----Alexander----

I flew with my head held high and my ears alert. I was so tense I was literally using my echolocation features every five to ten minutes. To my side were two other men with large wings from Scarlett’s force. The bigger one with the wide shoulders and the putrid canine breath had Haliaeetus leucocephalus wings, or in other words Bald Eagle wings. They looked intensely strong and he resembled a hefty lumberjack. The other was scrawny like myself as well as tall. He dressed in casual attire; just a grey baggy striped hoodie and a pair of blue jeans with some dirty scuffed sneakers. His hair was a scraggly brown mess and he had a scruffy five o’clock shadow across his face. He didn’t come off as a police officer, he came off as a guy in his mid twenties that hibernated in his basement playing video games and looking at inappropriate magazines.

The burly man who was named Bengie had Mordecai. Bengie had a criminal record in man slaughter from eight years ago and six unpaid parking tickets. The other was Nelson who used to work at a Blockbuster and majored in computer graphics fromJeffersonCollege. I had to do my background checks before I set off into the night. Of course I wasn’t oozing with joy to be flying next to a citizen who killed a guy, but I wasn’t going to reject either and start a dispute between myself and a criminal. I was way too uneducated in the acts of physical education for that. I was cringing every minute from Jedidiah’s weight on my back. He had somehow managed to fall asleep on my back despite him thinking I could read his thoughts and us departing on a dangerous mission to maybe relieve man kind partially. Every once in awhile he’d jerk awake when he’d begun to roll to the edge of my back. Aiden kept complaining about how it was freezing up here and he should have brought a larger hoodie. Mordecai kept yelling cuss words at Aiden.

“Calm the fuck down!” Mordecai shouted as if on queue with my thought train.

“I’d like to see you rip off your coat and see how you fucking like it!” Aiden shouted back pointedly. Mordecai shook his head in response.

“No, I’m pretty comfortable in my fuzzy coat.” Mordecai told Aiden. Aiden flipped him off and lied back onto his back with his hands behind his head. The night was pitch black and we would reach there by dawn to set up positions.

“Fuck!” Mordecai sang at the top of his lungs. I urged him to shush with the gleam of my eyes in the night but in response he just laughed. How could people live with themselves in just idiotic imbecilic ways? This would be a long night.

Dawn approached as slowly as it possibly could in an apocalyptic sky. Meaning that the sun does not become visible until noon; for that is its highest point in the sky. So dawn is just a shimmer behind the large debris clouds. It was like when you throw a shirt over a lamp and a glow portrays around it because the light is not fully condensed in the cloth. I was in the lead to land, because I was of course the leader in this expedition. In fact; in all expeditions even if Elijah wasn’t aware of that. A large stadium sized mound of a hill stood in front of us. “As you see this is a large hill; the base is located beneath this. Almost all government facilities and important military bases are held underground. Planes drop in through hidden shoots that rise when a flight comes in, or an incoming belonging vehicle. Jedidiah your position will be near shoot A. Mordecai, you’ll be around shoot B which is on the opposite side, and Aiden you’ll be near shoot C; which is on top of the mountain. Now if you hear the word link up, that obviously means get together at whatever shoot Scarlett requests you to be located.” I explained to them slowly so they understood. I saw movement out of the corner of my eyes. I instantly turned around to see a woman with long brown hair dart behind a boulder in the distance.

“Calm down, those are backup bounty hunters.” Scarlett’s voice chimed into my earpiece.

“Oh okay.” I replied. “Just back up.” I told the group. They nodded. I knew they all hated me, but due to circumstances they seemed to be following orders quite well. There were no outbursts or rude comments about myself or my attire. Either I intimidate them to much or there getting mature in the moment. Probably a little bit of both I concluded.

“Alright we’re flying back. Stay safe.” I told them affirmatively with an awkward wave as I headed out into the sky on my own, not waiting for the other two men to accompany me. I could feel the nervousness burning off the boys’ skin but I didn’t care. Why should I? I was about to accomplish step one of my disposition. Did I think Elijah would be killed, of course I did. Did I have plan? Now who would Alexander Wright the fifth be if he had no plan?
