---Griffin----
I slung myself first out of the door grabbing Elijah by the hand. A thousand thoughts were going through my head, and if a thousand thoughts were going through my head, than there’s a trillion going through Ezekial’s. Really, Akemi and Elijah? Had I been dreaming? Heck no! I wish! Why hadn’t I made a move first? I’m freaking Griffin Lorenzo, and I was ashamed to realize that Akemi, the boy who has never dated anyone, made out with Elijah before I did. I was shocked that I had been a gentleman. Well, I wouldn’t really call it being a gentleman. I’d say it was more I made my move to slow. Well, now I was running out the front door of the motel and Elijah had some how gotten out of my grip and was now slicing and dicing there fowl bodies. At least we were outside, or it would have smelt one hundred times worse. I took out my gun and screwed on a silencer, Akemi did the same. So did Ezekial. Elijah was the only one who was an up close kind of fighter, yet again none of us could move like her so it was for the best.
I flew down close with Ezekial parallel to me and we fired. Ezekial had sharp shooting unlike me who fired recklessly. This was an odd feeling…
What was this? I felt as if I almost feared shooting Elijah accidently. I laughed. That was hardly the case, just a slight pang of hunger in my stomach from lack of dinner. I began shooting more. Headshot, headshot, headshot. There skull fractured and pus filled the lining as it exploded the skull into tiny of pieces when Ezekial shot it. Akemi was hit with some of the Outcomes grime and he shot the crowd, obviously trying his best to avoid Elijah who was doing cartwheels and freaking flips in the raid. Where had these even come from? I wish I didn’t freaking glow. Elijah kicked her leg up high and smacked a creature down and stomped it dead in the ground breaking it. Ezekial had shot one of the Outcome’s legs off and it crawled behind Elijah. For a moment I thought she wasn’t going to realize it and that feeling came in my stomach again, hunger, it was only hunger. Akemi finished the crowd with a swift headshot to the last outcome.
“We got to get out of here, like now.” Elijah stammered. Her breathing was heavy. She was sensing other Outcomes near. I could tell by her eyes. Ew, why would I try to breathe in her so deeply? What is wrong with me?
She swiftly and effortlessly sprung herself into a barren tree hopping from limb to limb. Akemi was the only one still walking. I felt a pang of humor that his little make out buddy wouldn’t walk with him. She was a leader though, and I knew she was really stressing to prove she hadn’t lost her focus. No one thought she had, she was just paranoid. Everyone was silent and we walked, flew, and leapt through the forest. Something caught Elijah’s eye because she stopped dead in her tracks. She jumped down and slid silently over through the trees we followed her. What the hell is she doing? Ezekial and I shared a look of confusion.
“Look.” She pointed at a white small building with the lights on through the trees. “I’m going to go check it out.” She said. My eyes grew big and without thinking I grabbed her wrist.
“Me too.” That was a dumb thing to say. Her face tensed up.
“I can handle myself. Just stay close by.” She whispered. She turned around; her flaming red hair bouncing in the wind. When she approached the window she stopped and signaled us over. Akemi bounded over, but was smart enough to know right now wasn’t a good time to fool around.
“What are they doing?” I asked. Her eyes were big.
“Take a look.” She said. Ezekial pressed his face to the glass. So did Akemi and I. Inside were two men in lab coats on. On the examination table were two Outcomes tied down. The men had on gas masks and began picking up a incision knife and making a slight cut down its skull. They swabbed the pus oozing out and measured a syringe. They injected the two different needles into the two Outcomes. There bodies recklessly shook and there skin began to repair and hair began to sprout. A cure! The men smiled with glee, but then there faces grew pale when suddenly the skin rotted almost instantly again and the Outcome’s teeth enlarged twice its size and at least twenty foot wings sprouted from the right one. The other one’s attempt of a cure made its rotten flesh boil and turn to ash. That’s when I noticed dog crates on the floor. There were trapped outcomes there. Some with wings, some un-experimented on, some with gills, I was piecing it together. This is what must have made the Outcome at the border jump. The men tried to keep the Outcome down but it swung its head towards there arm and the flinched in fear. It escaped through the already broken back window and left.
“There creating more advanced Outcomes while looking for the cure, and there escaping and repopulating.” Elijah murmured. I took Elijah’s hand and picked her up. I hadn’t ever seen her stunned like this. Ezekial flew up with Akemi on his back. Akemi was whispering something to Ezekial and all he did in response was shrug.
“Listen Elijah.” I whispered.
“Yes.” She calmly replied. Her voice was calmer than her face. Her face was distant and lost in thought.
“It’s going to be alright. Trust me.” I said grabbing her free hand that wasn’t around my back and pressing it to my chest. She turned her head to look at me and our eyes met. I wanted to kiss her so bad, but I couldn’t. She was with Akemi now. I wanted to kiss her more than anything. It was utterly disgusting. What was happening to me?
