----Elijah----
I sat annoyed between Griffin and Ezekial. It was pretty cool having Ezekial’s arm around me, but I was too annoyed to be comforted. I mean seriously, how much more arrogant and self centered can you get? “Hey, loosen up a bit. Your so tense.” Ezekial softly said with a gentle smile. I smiled a small smile then going back to a straight face.
“Yeah, loosen up babe.” Griffin smoothly said taking his arm from around my back and spinning me to face Ezekial and have my back turned to him. Seconds later I was getting a back massage. “I’m de-tensing you of your stress.” He purred in my ear and kissed my cheeks. I blushed. Griffin was so hot. I could sense Chase’s annoyance and I smirked. Ezekial rolled his eyes at Griffin.
“Is this really necessary?” Ezekial asked.
“Of course it is! Do you want this lady to be tense? She’ll kill everyone!” Griffin exclaimed. He massaged my collar bones accordingly. Man, he gave a mean back massage. Ezekial thought about it and nodded. I laughed.
“Yeah, that’s not a good thing.” Ezekial murmured then laughing.
“Feel good baby?” Griffin asked working down my spine. I worried that he would travel to low if you catch my drift.
“Mhm.” I replied drowsily. I was getting sort of tired. This was so relaxing. I was right; his hands went a little to low. I reached behind me and dragged his hands back up to my back instantly.
“Oh darn, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice.” He sleazily said. I laughed.
“Well I noticed hon.” I replied. Akemi was asleep already in the tent. Ezekial glared at Griffin and Griffin shrugged not caring. I couldn’t stop thinking about Chase in the back of the cave. Out of all people why did he have to survive? Did he honestly think I would ever get back with him? I was so glad these boys were with me. It would keep him away from me. Why hadn’t his name appeared on the news channel MIA lists? I sighed. I remembered when I was with him and we fought day after day. It was an exhausting relationship that I gave up Ezekial for. It was the biggest mistake of my life. Ezekial and I were fun, carefree, and cute. Chase and I were dramatic, exhausting, and stupid. I would go out and hang with Ezekial and ignore his texts for the night on weekends so he couldn’t yell at me even more for hanging out with him instead of himself. He was so irritating and wanted to claim me. I am not freaking a person to claim. I wanted to groan in frustration but I held it in. “I’m tired, I think I’m going to go to bed.” I yawned taking Griffin’s hands off my shoulders and giving them a thank you squeeze before letting them go.
“Yeah, me too.” Ezekial replied.
“I call sleeping by Elijah!” Griffin called jumping in the tent next to Akemi who was fast asleep. Drool trickled from the corner of his mouth onto the tent's floor. We had no pillows or a mattress. All I had was the cactus blanket I took with me from my shelter in New Mexico. I lied down next to Griffin and he slipped his arm over my waist pulling me close to him. He laid his head against my back and sighed. I smiled and held his hands for a moment before letting go. I had this sinking feeling Griffin was generating feelings for me that did not need to be generated. Ezekial clambered in and glanced at us then turned to sleep at the bottom of the tent so his feet were facing me, and his face were facing ours. I was a little disappointed that he hadn’t slept near me. Not like I wanted him to. Who am I kidding? Yes I did. I realized shortly it was probably better that he slept at the bottom. I wasn’t going to lie; this whole Griffin stuff was nice. He knew not to go far enough to pass the friendship line and just friendly flirted with me. I hoped it would stay this way, but I knew it wouldn’t. What was I thinking going to sleep this early? I wasn’t tired at all. I was nocturnal. I wanted to get up and sit at the edge of the cave and overlook the barren state of Nevada, but Griffin’s arms were wrapped around me and they weren’t asleep yet. I sighed and decided to close my eyes for a bit.
I waited for about two hours until I could here Ezekial snoring. Griffin had reached his full glow potential and the tent was a bright luminous green. Occasionally it would fade into a luminous blue or pink. I picked up Griffin’s pale thin arm and slipped out of the tent silently. I walked across like icy grey cave floor to the jagged edge. I hung my feet over the edge and stared out at the open plane. I heard footsteps behind me. They were steady and expecting. Chase knew I’d be awake. I sighed loudly so he would understand I was not interested in speaking.
“Hello Elijah.” He knowingly ignored my body language. I did a slight uncaring wave not bothering to turn around. Chase came and sat down next to me. He forced a tiny smile as he looked over at me. I glared at him and turned my head back to the view. He swallowed.
“You are not a, well how did I put it before..? You are not a whore. I was offended and spoke off term.” He curtly apologized. Chase, apologizing? I must be dreaming. I laughed.
“Obviously.” I sneered. He sighed.
“You know the only reason I was leaving in the morning was to look for you. I assumed you’d be in New York and I’d be able to sweep you off your feet again. I guess I… was wrong.” He replied very business like, but there was a tint of obvious hurt in his voice. My eyes were wide in disbelief. Not because he was going to look for me, but because he admitted he was wrong about something. He let out a faint chuckle.
“Two surprises in one night, ay?” He said with a smile understanding my shock. I nodded. “So, are you and Ezekial back together…” He slowly asked.
“Of course not.” I stammered trying to sound like it was completely out of the question. He raised an eyebrow.
“Really? Well then you obviously must be with Griffin.” He assumed.
“Just because he’s a flirt doesn’t make us together.” I spat. “There is no time for a relationship of any sort in this period of time” I finished. Even if I wanted there to be one… I thought to myself sighing.
“I’m going to be blunt here; do you have any feelings inside of your heart for me anymore?” He quickly asked with more obvious pleading in his voice than he planned there to be. I looked at him like he was stupid.
“Obviously not, Chase!” I snapped. His face drained of color, which seemed impossible because he was already pale as snow. He nodded and stood up.
“I escaped the camp for you.” He muttered walking away.
“Well that was a stupid thing to do. You may have forgiven me, and I don’t hate you, but I want nothing to do with you.” I told him. He paused for a few moments, and then began walking to the back of the cave again. I rubbed my eyelids in exhaustion. I entered the cave to lie down again and Ezekial was in regular sleeping position now by Griffin. I laid down next to Ezekial now since he had closed up my original spot between him and Griffin. I closed my eyes and felt someone interlock there fingers with mine. I opened them and saw Ezekial had his eyes still closed but had a calm smile on his face. This kid was awake and holding my hand. I smiled too and then shut my eyes.
