She refuses to leave him alone in his isolation, and instead, visits his home frequently, even though he never admits her. Despite her uncle's wrath and prejudices, Elodie continues to reach out to Wynter. When circumstances finally drive Wynter to answer her, they are both swept into a storm of unresolved trauma and unacknowledged romance.
