Long ago, earlier than any kwamis originated or miracle boxes created. The Kwamis of Balance were born Yin and Yang. They came before Tikki, Plagg and the others, but the kwamis of Balance were different from the rest.
First, there were two, not one, and they're both linked to the same miraculous. Unusually both are needed for the ultimate transformation.
The two parts are the earrings of light with the kwami named Yang and the ring of the darkness of the kwami Yin.

To transform, they would have to say the magical worlds. For Yang, they are "Yang, let's illuminate this dreary day" for Yin, they are "Yin let Darkness come." The kwamis do not get along and are strong. But stronger if combined. The marvellous creatures are even above both Plagg and Tikki.
They are opposites spending time together since the beginning of time can get annoying. Due to the strength and cooperation between the two kwamis, they remained apart.
The creator of the miraculous. He gave the jewels to his two prized pupils. He cast a spell that would only allow the descendants of his pupils to be capable of getting Yin or Yang to this world and transform.
