Riposte

(3rd Pov)

"You're on your way here?"

"But how did you-"

"She's gonna kill me if-"

"I know I said you could use me for your 'plans,' and I'd always have your back.-"

"I do believe in you; I just know you. And I know your possible opponents."

"Yes, I have defeated them."

"Fine, see you then."

With that, Y/n hung up the phone, knowing what was to come. "Hey, sis, who was that?" Adrien asked Y/n, and she smirked. "You'll see. Now remind me again, why can't I quit? I could be your cheerleader or manager. I'd rather that, plus besides you, there is no one interesting."

The siblings were changing into their fencing gear. Most of the other team members were glaring at the girl, which she felt, so she glared back, which was meaner than the ones she received.

"If you cannot defeat me in battle, you don't have an opinion. Adrien, I'm not quitting, just to beat all their buts." The girl whispered the last part as she turned to her brother.

"Let's go warm up before the others. Hopefully, there will be more cuts; we need new blood." She told him as she grabbed her bag with multiple Sabres in different colours. With that, the girl left, leaving Adrien to deal with looks from his teammates.

"She's my sister. So I'm always gonna have her back, and you all need to be better unless you want her to complain to Mr. D'Argencourt." With that, Adrein left. But when he opened the door, he found Y/n leaning against the wall. "You heard all that." She smirked, "Obviously, I will complain if they don't get better. So practice!"

...

Adrien and Y/n had spent the time it took for all the 'fresh blood,' as Y/n called them; Y/n never liked the newbies as they all had their reasons for being there and after all, a team is only as strong as their weakest member.

"Miss Y/n." Mr. D'Argencourt called out, and the girl nodded. "I expect you to see every person trying out. After all, I trust your judgement, as we only have one spot open." The girl nodded, but then she had a question.

"What about Adrien?" "You see, Miss Y/n, your brother...he's too nice. Plus, I heard of the conversation you had with your teammates. Although, I believe you need to learn to get along with them. You told them the truth, and they all fear you." The girl smiled, "That's what I was looking for."

...

Now all the students were ready; the 'Fresh blood' stood on one side while the team stood with the other, along with Mr. D'Argencourt. "I am the fencing master, Mr. D'Argencourt. As you know, we have only one open spot on the team this year. So, to select the best possible candidate, I will observe the beginners performing several attacks on the experienced students. And my students will be watching, so I will get their input."

Adrien and Y/n noticed how Marinette was there, and they both glanced at each other when their friend spoke. "Where's Adrien?"

"Get into position." Mr. D'Argencourt told his students and motioned them to find a partner. Y/n stayed back, as she had counted the number of students; they were one short, plus she didn't feel like teaching anyone. "Make sure you keep an eye out," Mr. D'Argencourt told the girl, who nodded, and she followed her brother to where Marinette was.
