New Beginning

Costia spent another 8 days in her cell, but then the door got opened and a certain redhead stepped inside. Costia couldn't read her face but she knew Natasha was about to tell her something she was happy about.

"You're allowed to leave the cell now." She said with a small smile, "Follow me."

Natasha walked to the elevator making sure Costia was behind her. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

"It's just I have barely talked to anyone since 3 weeks so maybe tell me something what happened here... uhm were you or Barton on missions or something? Why haven't you visited my cell? I mean even Barton came a few times you know..." Costia questioned.

No answer. Great. Before Costia had the chance to say something again Natasha led Costia in Furys office.

Fury started to talk as soon as Natasha left the room and closed the door behind her.

"I have reason to believe that you really want to stop living like you did before. You'll get an apartment here in the shield building. It's right next to Romanoffs apartment, Bartons apartment is right next to hers. You are not allowed to leave the Shield building or your apartment. You will just be allowed to leave your apartment if agent Romanoff, agent Barton or I allowed it. Also for the first few days you're not allowed to leave your apartment alone, got that agent Reyonoff?"

"Uh yes, sir." agent?

"Here're your keys, you can leave now. Agent Romanoff will lead you to your room."
"Thank you, sir" Costia said confused and left the room.

-

"Uhm Nat, Fury just called me an agent?" she looked at Costia with a questioning look on her face. "Is that what I am now? Just another agent?"
"That sounded very attacking." Natasha said, sarcastically acting like she was hurt what made Costia smile behind Natasha. It reminded her of the old days where Costia and Natasha were close.

"No Tasha, no, I'm just wondering."

"Yes Costia, you are an agent. And since when do you call me Tasha?" Natasha asked as the the two stepped into the elevator.

"Since you changed your name to Natasha. You know, it's just a nickname?"
"Yeah, whatever here's your room." she stopped in front of a door with the number '328' on it. "If you need anything just call or text me."

"Uhm... I don't have your number... Also I don't have my phone I guess." Costia said as she stopped infront of the door.

"It's on the coffee table in your room, right next to it is a note with mine and Clints number on it." Natasha said as she already started walking towards her apartment door.

"Oh thank-" Costia got cut off by the door next to hers closing. She stepped inside her apartment and looked first for cameras or listening devices. When she found none she looked around in the room she was in.

The apartment had just two rooms, one with a small kitchen on the side where the door was. Right next to the kitchen a couch with a little coffee table in front of. On the opposite wall of the door were big windows with a bed in front of them. Right next to the bed was a small workspace and a door, probably the bathroom door. The apartment was though it was just two rooms quite big and seemed comfortable.

Costia opened the door to the bathroom and stepped inside. There was a bathtub with a shower and a door. A door?

She stepped closer to the door when she heard someone crying behind it, no not someone she heard Natasha crying. She remembered the sound of her crying very well because she heard it often when she was in the red room.

"Nat, you okay?" she said in a soft voice trough the door. Immediately the crying noises stopped and Costia heard quite footsteps walking away from the closed door. Yup, Natasha won't talk to Costia for days.

In the red room Costia used to comfort Natasha when she was crying, but now was different. Costia felt that Natasha wanted to trust her but couldn't anymore. Deep inside it hurt her but why should she trust her?

Was the door even locked? Costia was too scared to find out so she went back to the coffee table in the other room and checked her phone. Well it was not her phone it was a new one. Of course they would do that, change her phone and take her old one.

Costia quickly set up the phone and added the two numbers from the note wich was placed right next to the phone.

She thought about texting Natasha, asking if she was alright but decided against it. She didn't want Natasha to feel uncomfortable so she just texted Clint saying she wanted to train.

Costia: hey Barton, I want to train and since I'm not allowed to go anywhere alone would you come with me? please :)
Clint: fine, I'll pick you up in your room in 10 minutes. In your closet are training clothes.
Costia: thank you, you're the best!
Clint: you're welcome.

-

Costia quickly put her long blonde hair in a ponytail and put on her training clothes, a long sleeved top and long sports pants before she put on her trainers.

Costia opened the door before Clint even had a chance to knock. "Wait how did you know I was-
"Let's go" Costia interrupted him closing the door behind her and locking it.

-

The training room was simply one big room but had also a couple extra little training rooms. It wasn't that full, probably because of the mission Costia heard a few agents talking about. As soon as the agents and other Shield staffs in the room noticed Costia an uncomfortable silence swept over the room. Everyone stopped the conversation they were having just before.

To Costias surprise Clint spoke up after a few seconds "Okay everyone saw her, the deadly Widow. Now go back to your training or leave."

He pushed Costia in one of the separate training rooms and closed the door behind him. "Uhm thank you but 'deadly Widow'? Where did I get that nickname from?" Costia asked as she looked at the weapons that can be used for training in the room.

"Wait let me think..." he ironically scratched his head "maybe because you are a deadly assassin who called herself the White Widow?" He said looking Costia in the eyes.

"Were... and I didn't really have a choice." she corrected him in a quite tone. "Well, there's always a choice." Clint added. There was a hurt look in her eyes just for a second, but Clint noticed.

Costia hadn't met many people who could read her face. There were obviously Natasha and Yelena and also Lena, the girl Nat, Yelena and Costia shared a room with in the red room. But apparently Clint could also read Costia a little.

"So what do you want to train?" Clint snapped Costia out of her thoughts. "Knifes, I wanna throw knifes." she said as she looked at the different knifes that were laying beside them.

Costia could see Clint didn't trust her having knifes but still gave in, giving Costia the knifes and setting up the target.

Costia twitched the knifes in her hands, god she missed them. She slowly got in the position and set the knife in her hand in the right position. The next second the knife was thrown in the middle of the target.

"Impressive." Clint said right after Costia threw all the other knifes, every single one hitting the middle of the target. God she missed this so much.
