4.10. High Ground

High Ground

The city was less crowded than before but there were still a lot of people rushing around. It was going okay, Tony was currently talking to Ultron so he couldn't attack civilians.

Suddenly the ground was beginning to shake, like there was an earthquake. Expect there wasn't one, this was Ultron.

Everywhere Costia looked houses got damaged, families were running out of buildings. The children were crying and the parents were dragging them behind, desperately trying to get out of the city.

The blondes mind only landed on one person, her fiancée. She knew she couldn't get to her right now, she had to do her job here. It was eating her from inside but somehow she knew Natasha was okay, like she felt it.

Robots were crawling out of the ground, ready to attack everyone who would get in their way.

Costia jogged closer to Wanda and Clint who were fighting on a bridge, the three were aware that they needed to get the people off the bridge, it could collapse any minute.

Clint was shooting robots as Wanda and Costia told people to 'get off the fucking bridge', Costias words. The people screamed as a robot walked towards them, his gun raised high.

It was some kind of advanced technology, probably something involving Vibranium. Wanda and Costia combined their powers in some way and created a shield which was able to hold up the gunshots from the robot.

"Run!" Wanda told the people who still stood behind them. They quickly ran away, their shield broke soon after. The robot hit wanda with his weapon and was destroyed immediately after by Costia.

Clint approached them as the blonde helped Wanda up. "A little help would've been nice." Costia looked around, she already spotted a few more robots in the distance.

Suddenly the ground began to shake even stronger and the it started to break on one spot. The three shared worried glances when they walked closer to the edge, they saw that the part of the city they were on slowly rose in the air.

"This can't be good." Costia stated as she walked away from the edge again, the other two following her.

'Friday.' they heard Tony ask, he changed to her since Jarvis was a part of Vision now. Stark saw what everyone else was seeing too.

'Sokovia is going for a ride.' Friday answered, even her voice sounded like she was afraid.

"So, Ultron is gonna drop this city when it's high enough and wipe humanity out?" Costia questioned as she looked between Wanda and Clint.

'Basically, yes.' Stark answered her.

"Well, that sounds lovely." she smiled ironically.

Costia switched her channels as she walked a little away from the others. "Natasha?" she asked as she entered her and Natashas private channel, almost evryone had their own.

'Are you okay?' she heard Natasha ask through the comms.

Costia nodded, realising a few seconds later that Natasha couldn't see it, "Yeah." she said quickly, trying to sound as cool as possible.

'You just nodded, didn't you?' Natasha laughed, Costia shook her head when she walked back to Wanda and Clint, she saw a few more robots in the distance. Natasha knew her a little too well.

She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the upcoming fight. She had a leak of sleep, food and water and was mentally drained with fear, anxiety and hatred against Ultron but she kept herself together. She could do this, she just had to belive in it.
