We Won

Costia felt how she grew a little tired, they all had been fighting since a long time. Eventually Steve and Thor joined her again, so she stopped using her powers.

"Are you ready for another bout?" Thor asked as he helped Steve up who was kneeling on the ground. The aliens came in waves, they only had a view minutes before new aliens would come.

"What, are you getting sleepy?" Steve asked out of breath as he looked over at Thor, the god just grabbed his hammer as an answer.

'I can close it. Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down.' Natasha said through the comms right before the next aliens were coming around the corner. "Do it!" Steve said quickly.

'No, wait.' Stark said through the comms. "Stark, these things are still coming." Steve said as he looked up at the portal once again. 'I got a nuke coming in. It's gonna blow in less than a minute.' Stark said, 'And I know just where to put it.'

The other Avengers quickly understood where Stark was going with this, "Stark, you know that's a one-way trip." Steve spoke up.

They all watched as Stark flew in the direction of the portal, a massive nuke on his back. He flew right through the portal. Everyone was relived the nuke was gone. But as it seemed, Stark was gone too.

Steve, Thor and Costia looked around them as all the aliens fell to the ground. They quickly centred their attention back to the portal in the sky. "C'mon Stark." Costia said as there was still no sign of the man.

"Close it." Steve said through his comms, the explosion from the nuke in space kept getting nearer to the portal. Natasha did as she was told and soon the portal got smaller.

Right before the portal closed a man in red armour came through, Costia had a small smile on her face. "Son of a gun." Steve said as he looked up.

They watched as Stark came nearer and near to the ground, "He's not slowing down." Thor said as he prepared himself to catch him.

As Thor was about to get him the Hulk jumed from a building right next to them and grabbed the man in the red suit as he slid down on the nearest building.

The three ran over to the positon where Hulk landed with Stark in his arms.

"Is he breathing?" Steve asked Thor as the god turned him on his back. The Asgardian ripped off Starks mask, his eyes were closed and he didn't move. Steve kneeled down beside him and tried to see on his chest if Stark was breathing.

Costia looked at him in disbelief, if she was sure that Stark was alive in that moment she would've laughed. Steve really tried to see if Starks chest moved through the suit.

But Stark was just laying there on the ground, motionless.

They all just stood there watching him. The Hulk seemed to get more upset, he roared loudly at Stark, and the man really opened his eyes. Costia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.

"What the hell?" Stark said, he was still laying on the ground. Costia smiled at him, the man who appeared so selfish. The same man who carried a missile though a whole in space risking his own life to save a city from obliteration.

"What just happened?" Stark asked, nobody answered him. Everyone was just starring at him. "Please tell me nobody kissed me." Stark said, his humor was already back. Costia finally allowed herself to laugh at one of his jokes, just because he nearly died of course.

"We won." Steve said as he looked around him, everywhere broken-down buildings and smashed cars. "All right, yay!" Stark said as he still laid on the ground, he tried to lighten up the mood, "Hurray. Good job, guys."
