Remember when we used to jump off swings at the park?
It was so easy to believe we could fly back then.
And now that we've soared through life at increasing speeds,
The lesson being taught the loudest is how to stay grounded and on our feet.I still like to go to parks,
20 years past their time,
10 years past my prime.
Smoke a Marlboro light,
And feel the crispness of the night. And on a pendulum I swing,
Thinking of who I am,
And how I came to be.
More profound than when I was three. And for brief moments,
As the breeze hits my face,
And I fight the urge to jump,
Because my ankles might not braceMy fall.
I feel infinite,
Like the wallflower
To the walls I built around myself to be here. And still...
I take a deep breath
On gravity's exhale,
And fly.🌕10/20/21🌕
