Erin was met with Jays arms in a bear hug.

"Erin... you're okay" he said as he gently examined her, she flinched at the slight pain on her stomach and her skull.

Just for a minute she forgot how much pain she was in and just let Jays warmth take over.

She was so relieved he had found her, lucky she remembered about the bracelet otherwise who knows what would've happened.

"Jay what happened to Johnny?" Erin asked.

She wanted to know if she was safe or if she still had to worry about Johnny kidnapping, and killing more kids after putting them through a pedophile ring.

"We got his bodyguards down at the station. No Johnny" Jay said as he stroked her hair softly.

Erin melted at his touch, unsure of wether she should let go or just keep hugging him.

"I'm just glad you're okay Erin. Hailey is in surgery. Kim's okay but I got kicked off the case.
I was pissed so I was at the hospital all last night and today because I couldn't go home or my mind darted straight back to you. Erin I wouldn't know what to do with myself if something happened to" Jay was cut off by Erin kissing him.

Softly at first. But when he kissed back, the passion in it was incredible.

It sent tingles down both their spines, their bodies in tune with one another. His hands moving up her body and her hands rested behind his neck.

That moment seemed to last forever before Erin pulled away.

"What was for?" Jay asked.

"That was for never giving up on me" she said gently, Jay pulled her into another kiss.

Shorter and less passionate this time, but still soft and tender.

"What was that for?" Erin asked the same question he did.

"Because I was worried about you and because, I just wanted to kiss you" he said with a smile.

Erin smiled again before her smile fell, Jay picked up on it and lifted her head. She had tears streaming down her face.

"Erin what's wrong?" he asked her.

Erin had just remembered that he didn't know Hadley was dead. And it was all her fault.

"Hadley was dead when I got here after they took me" Erin said with a choked voice, "Hadley's dead Jay. And it's all my fault" she said before she broke down into sobs.

Jay remembered that they had a little girl together. Hadley Mae. And now, they were too late. And she was dead.

His eyes started to water and a tear fell,
"Erin it's not your fault. No one is blaming you okay? You did everything you could. We were just too late..." Jays voice trailed off a little.

He was angry now. Furious at whoever hurt Erin and killed his daughter. His tears were more angry than anything right now. It was all he could feel.

The anger. The rage. The fire.
Burning inside him.

Before it took over, Erin shifted her weight so that she was facing him again.

"Jay. There's this little girl. Milly. We need to help her, she knows what the people in the ring look like" Erin said as she shuddered slightly. Milly was only four or five, not even old enough to understand what was going on.

"Then let's go. We need to get you to Med, and I'll pull up some files from there okay" he said as he kissed her forehead before they headed back out to the squad car he had parked outside.

They walked out of the house and Erin ran over to Antonio and Voight who wrapped her in a bear hug.

"You ok kid?" Voight asked. He sounded more over protective than normal.

"Yeah I'm fine, I think I might've broken a rib and have a gash on my face but um..." Erin started to speak before she teared up again.

Jay came to her side and wrapped her up in his arms again, she settled quickly and just stayed in the safety and comfort of his arms for a little while he stoked her hair and talked to Voight and Antonio.

Voight gave him an eye signal, seemingly asking if they were back together. Jay went wide eyed, signaling that he had no idea.

"Remember that girl on the board. Hadley Mae. She was about five years old?" Jay asked his boss and teammate.

"Yeah what about her? Wasn't she your daughter?" Antonio asked as Erin shifted again. Hinting she was uncomfortable, Jay rubbed her back a little before speaking again.

"Yeah she was, and she's dead" he said with a blank tone, it was unreadable.

He was heartbroken that his daughter was killed, but he also felt confused. And so so lost, he had no idea what to do about Erin and how to grieve.

This case just went from hard to crazy in a matter of weeks.

Erin refused to go to Med, insisting that she was fine. Voight, Antonio and Jay refused to let her to back to the district so they brought her to Med instead. Much to her displeasure.

"Well go check on Adam and see if there's any news on Hailey. Call us if you need anything" Voight called out as Jay and Erin stepped into one of the trauma bays.

"So about earlier" Erin said with a sorrowful tone.

"Erin... It's okay. I feel the same way. Let's just. Take it slow and see what happens okay?" Jay said and Erin's eyes lit up before she gave him a quick kiss.

"Detective Lindsay, Detective Halstead. Is everything alright?" Dr Manning asked as she stepped into the room.

"Erin was abducted. She has ligature marks on her wrists and ankles, probably a broken rib or two, bruising on her stomach and abdomen. As well as this beauty" he said while indicating a gash on her face.

"Ouch. Glad you're safe now Erin. Well perform some more tests just in case you have something in your system. We're you unconscious at one point at all?" Natalie asked.

"Yeah. I hit myself on the back of the head after he threw me into the room. I passed out for several hours before I woke up again" she said before Natalie nodded and turned to the nurse.

"I need to order a CBC, CMP, coags, an abdominal ultrasound and x-ray. Oh and get me a rape kit" the doctor said to the nurse on standby.

"Rape kit?" Jay asked with wide eyes.

"Usually we don't perform rape kits on situations like this. But since you were unconscious in a ring leader for a pedophile ring with charges of rape I think better to play it safe. Is that ok?" Natalie asked her patient. Erin looked at Jay before nodding slowly.

She had seen rape kits be done. But she never thought she'd have to have one herself.

How funny life is sometimes. She thought sarcastically.
