It had been about three weeks since the officers had been released from hospital, the Johnny case was still going hot.

Their trade from the week before went sideways but thankfully no one was badly injured, though Erin and Hailey got the brunt of it.

They were still pretty shaken up, but with some love from Jay and Haileys new love interest Lyric. They felt a lot better already, but Hailey still had recurring nightmares.

From everything that happened in her life, with her abusive dad. Her mom deciding to stay with him after everything. Getting shot. There was so much going on but the most recent nightmare was about the night of the trade.

Intelligence had just pulled up at the house where Erin was kept when Johnny had taken her.

Hailey and Erin covered the back entrance to the room while the boys took the sides and front, Hailey hid in between one of the shelves and their friends hid in different locations around and in front of the house in case an altercation happened.

Erin entered the room, she was tense but didn't let it show as she knew Hailey was there. She promised to keep her safe, Johnny wasn't anywhere to be seen until Erin heard the creek of a door and footsteps. She turned around slowly.

"Princess" Johnny used his usual snake like tone which made Erin's skin writhe, everyone was listening in. They could sense the thickness in the air, and the tone in Erin's voice when she said.

"Wheres my daughter" her voice was as cold as ice. Her eyes dead, she was looking to kill. Johnny whistled out and Hadley was brought in. She was asleep, her little body was beaten and bruised but nothing fresh. Johnny kept his word.

"What about the other kids?" Erin asked. He whistled again and the other two children were brought in.

Also unharmed.

The men who brought the children in came as hastily as they left, leaving just Erin and Johnny.

And Hailey, but Johnny didn't know that.

"Here's your stuff" she said as she tossed him the duffel bag. He skimmed through it before one of the children woke up and started to squirm, Johnny spun around but before he could touch any of them, Erin jumped on his back.

He rammed her backwards into the concrete wall which got a bad grunt from her.

"Move" Voight said as Hailey jumped out of the little corner she was hiding in whilst the boys made their way in. Johnny turned around, Erin was alive and breathing. Probably just winded.

She cocked her gun at Johnny before he whistled and the same men that came in, ran and grabbed the children before disappearing again.

Hailey tried to run after them but Johnny got on her back and held a knife to her neck.

"Drop your gun" he said as he pushed the knife closer to her skin. Hailey obliged and dropped her weapon. He backed into the corner where Erin sat, Hailey turned her eyes to her to see Erin had her eyes open and just went wide eyed as a signal to say 'do what you gotta do'.

"Chicago PD" was announced as the door was busted in by the boys. They looked down at Erin who was alive, and at Hailey who was being held with a knife to her neck.

Inches from taking the life out of her.

"Let her go, or you die" Voight said pointing his gun at Johnny,

"Kill me and you never find out where that precious little Hadley of yours is" he said in a sneer tone, Voight tried to move forwards but Johnny inched the blade into Haileys neck.

She winced as the knife broke the skin, the blood trickled down from the cut onto her shirt.

Soaking the collar in crimson.

Voight backed down before Erin lunged forwards and grabbed Johnny's legs. He got his legs swept out from under him, the knife went flying and Hailey fell forwards into Voights arms.

Erin climbed back on top of Johnny before slapping cuffs on him and dragging him out of the room before she ran up to Hailey.

The two detectives met in a warm hug, Haileys blood was all over Erin's shirt but she didn't care. They were alive.

"You saved my life" Hailey whispered into her best friends neck.

"I'd do it any day. I got your back, you know that" Erin said softly.

"I do, and I love you for it" Hailey responded.

"I'm so glad you're okay Hails. I've nearly lost you so many times, it's made me really think about how much I love you and how far Id go to save you" Erin spoke. Both girls still wrapped in the warmest and happiest hug.

Glad both partners were still alive.

They got back to the district and grilled Johnny as hard as they could. He was being charged on account of statutory rape, kidnapping, homicide and running kids through the pedophile ring.

Whom they still had no leads on as their only lead at the minute was Johnny.

He was utterly useless.

Didn't say a word until Voight met him properly, then the man wasn't so tight lipped.

"Hailey?" Erin asked her friend.

The blonde was out of place and confused when she was shook out of her trance. Trying to shudder all the old feelings from that night away when realized the soft touch belonged to none other than her best friend.

She offered her a smile,
"Yeah what's up?" Hailey replied.

"We have another lead on Johnny, it's his youngest sister. Lily Rose Sandoval, she's got no priors but quite the medical record. Sixteen suicide attempts in the last three years, being treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. She's currently in a mental institution and receives payment and calls from Johnny every week without fail. We're using her as leverage. Saying that we traced all the calls the night before the children were kidnapped were tied to her and so shes getting charged. If that doesn't get him to talk I don't know what will" Erin said with a sheepish yet cocky grin as she dragged her best friend to the interrogation room where all the boys watched.

Eager to see the bastard get what he deserved. Time for a little payback.
