Erin stirred in her sleep, she had spent the night at Haileys insisting Jay needed to clear his head.

She kept shifting over, all she could remember was how Ethan had shoved her over and the next thing she knew he had a bullet in his forehead.

The scene kept replaying in her mind making her night terrors even more vicious than what they were. All she could think about was that day then she heard a massive bang which forced her to jolt awake.

When she came to she realized she wasn't in her bed for starters, Jay wasn't next to her and she didn't even know where she was. Until she realized she was in Haileys room when the blonde came shuffling in.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you, the door slammed when I came back from my run" Hailey sat down on the end of the bed and rubbed Erin's leg.

"You okay? You're all sweaty, did I forget to turn the heater off?" Hailey went to check her heater while Erin knew why she was sweaty. That goddamn night terror that she had last night.

"No Hails it's all good. I was just hot, you know me. I much rather sleep in the cold" Hailey chuckled.

"Yeah I do. We have work soon, should we stop for coffee? I think we ran out of sugar at the district" Erin replied with a single laugh as Hailey left to shower.

All Erin could think about was that nightmare she had, and if only Jay was by her side. She knew that he would've been there to comfort her and tell her everything was going to be okay.

Meanwhile, a couple blocks down.

Jay had just sent off the DNA test from his other so called "daughter", it wasn't that he didn't believe Maddy. But then again he really didn't. He just wanted to be sure and make sure that this was all a bad dream and not a reality.

He already lost Erin once, he didn't want to loose her again.

Jay pulled out his phone and scrolled down in his contacts. He found Erin's and wrote up a text message.

I JUST SENT OFF THE DNA TEST. I DON'T BELIEVE MADDY. IM SORRY.

Wondering if it was a good idea he typed the message and press sent. Within a few minutes he got a reply.

OKAY. LET ME KNOW WHAT THE RESULT IS.

He was a little put off by her reply, but at least she actually did. Jay was starting to worry that him and Erin wouldn't come back from this.

He turned the key in the doorknob of his home and found Haddy still sleeping soundly in her room. He was only gone for ten minutes so he felt okay with leaving her to sleep.

Plus a good friend of his was down the hall and would alert Jay if anything happened.

He stroked his daughters blonde hair gently. Causing the little one to stir and wake.

"Daddy?" she reached out to her dad who pulled her onto his lap.

"Morning Haddy. Come on we have to get ready for daycare" He coaxed but the little girl wouldn't move.

"Wheres mommy? She didn't read my bedtime story last night" Jay knew better than to try and explain him and Erin's disputes in front of their three year old daughter.

"Mommy is working a lot at the moment, but she will be home soon I promise" He in fact. Didn't know if she'd be home soon.

Jay just didn't want to say 'Your mommy isn't coming back because daddy stuffed up. Again'. What kind of message would that send to a three year old?

Haddy got ready and Jay drove her to daycare. He got out of the car and one of the teachers was waiting at the front gate.

"Morning Hadley, Jay" the teacher shook Jays hand.

"Why don't you head inside sweet pea, I need to talk to your dad for a minute okay?" the lady was sweet. Jay instantly liked her.

"Okay Ms Tannerbaum. Bye daddy! Love you" Jay knelt down to her level and gave Haddy a cuddle.

"Love you too princess. I'll see you later okay. Aunty Helen is picking you up today but daddy will be home tonight" Haddy waved over her shoulder and Jay heard a faint 'Okay' before turning back to her teacher.

"So listen Jay, Hadley Mae has been struggling a lot with focus in class. She is a very talented young girl, she can already read and write almost as well as a five or six year old can. But she still has massive issues with focus, she has a really short attention span and is a lot more hyperactive than all the other kids. It's not a bad thing at all, but slightly out of the norm. Therefore we recommend you get her tested for ADD or ADHD, just as a preliminary measure in case she does so we can help her the best we can with her learning and development" The teacher smiled warmly. Jay already had his mind spinning with the whole Erin thing, but now Haddy might have ADHD.

His phone buzzed in his pocket and he checked it, message from Kim. But before he could see the message, he saw a photo memory.

His rangers unit. This was three years ago today. Jay felt his heart sink a little. He didn't need to be thinking about that today. He decided to check Kims message.

VOIGHT WANTS US ALL IN THE BULLPEN NOW. COME AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
KIM X

Kim's messages always ended like that, with an X. Jay thought it was rather nice of her. Erin usually added a heart. But she didn't today. Jay knew why.

He snapped out of his trance and spoke to Ms Tannerbaum.

"Thank you Ms Tannerbaum, we have noticed Haddy is quite a fidgety child. We thought it was just excitement but I'll talk to my girlfriend about getting her tested. Thank you for the help" They shook hands and Jay got back into his car.

He pulled out his phone again and typed a message to Erin.

JUST SPOKE WITH HADDYS TEACHER. WE NEED TO TALK LATER.

As soon as he sent it, he got a reply.

OKAY, MEET ME AT THE DISTRICT :)

She had put a smiley face. At least that was better than nothing. He drive in silence, his mind going a million miles an hour.

Wondering what Voight had in store for them now...
