Zak Storm - The Chosen One

Difficult Decision

The rest backed up - they knew it wasn't their fight. Zak looked darkly at his sister. "Today everything will come to an end!" cried Ria. "Yes, exactly, and with you!" said Zak and went in on the attack. Ria tried to keep her brother away from her with a beam of fire. But the fire didn't matter to Zak and he started a hurricane that interrupted the fire. 

"Calabrass, I need your help now." He nodded. "Calabrass! Give me the Eye of Sino!" She tried to combine both forces and in fact Zak had to take quite a bit. "You will regret that bitterly!" He ran towards them, took a sword off a soldier and took off. Both blades met and both were in eye contact. Zak's eyes sparkled angrily at his sister's eyes in a strong green. 

Z: "You don't get it, do you?" 

R: "You can no longer think clearly, you have to defend yourself against it!" 

Z: "You don't get too close to Skullivar!" 

R: "He brainwashed you! That's not you!" 

Z: "Before you treated me like a jerk. Left me alone!" 

R: "You know yourself that that is not true!" 

Z: "Even you! My own sister let me down! It's only because of you that I'm here! Just so you can save your friends!" 

R: "That's not true at all! Skullivar used this to get the last bit of anger out of your body. That was a lie! The choice was hard! Either my friends die and you die or you all stay alive! I had to let Bones go or you'd be dead now!" 

Z: "Liar! You just say that to trick me, but I won't fall for it!" 

The blades resented each other and they faced each other again. Ria fired a jet of ice, and Zak did the same. Each tried to displace the beam of the other. "Come on Ria, you can do it!" whispered Cece pleadingly. 

Ria pushed back and Zak maintained his strength. Ria seemed to have the upper hand when Zak gave in another move and threw Ria back. "Ria!" cried Cece. Zak approached her triumphantly. "I said you have no chance against me." Ria got up and fired a huge lightning bolt that made Zak bounce against the wall. There he remained motionless. 

Ria came closer and closer to Skullivar. "It's over!" But Skullivar had recovered somewhat after the chocolate attack and grabbed Ria by the collar, and pressed her against the wall. Then he let go of her and went to grab her with the sword. 

Zak's Point of View

I opened my eyes. Skullivar had let go of me but I still felt him trying to control my mind. My friends were surrounded by skeletons. I desperately looked around for my sister. When I spotted her, I saw Skullivar raise the sword. I had no choice, I had to save her. But how? I took a deep breath once and dragged myself to Ria with the last of my strength. She held her arms protectively in front of her face. I threw myself into the line of fire as the sword fell. "No!" I shouted loudly and afterwards... Silence.
