The Last Stand

Zak and Skullivar exchanged sinister glances, while the others retreated. "Just you and I, insect!" Zak nodded. Both took a step back before Skullivar went first on the attack. A dark beam came towards Zak, but he used the wall of fire to block the shot and pushed the wall further forward until it hit Skullivar. At first, he didn't seem to mind and he fought back. Zak blocked again and decided to transform. "Calabrass, looks like we need to go stronger!" "Aye, Captain! Get started!" Zak clutched Calabrass's handle. "Calabrass, give me the Eye of Aeria!" Zak threw a lightning bolt at Skullivar but he dodged. "Well then, we'll have to do this the hard way!" Zak summoned Aeria's strength in his right hand, then he closed his eyes and formed a fireball in the other. When the forces of Blazz and Aeria touched, Zak stood in front of Skullivar in purple-red armour. "Fusion! Flame Typhoon!" A huge wind path mixed with fire came closer and closer to Skullivar, and whirled him to the edge of the windows. Zak grabbed his head. "Are you alright, captain?" "Yes, I'm fine, but the attack just drained me a lot." Skullivar got up again and Zak stood in a fighting position. 

The crew and Bones couldn't do anything but watch. "Come on, Zak, you'll win. I believe in you!" Zak transformed back. "I'm sorry, Zak, I'm flat," Calabrass said exhausted. Skullivar threw an energy ball at Zak who jumped to the side and came dangerously close to the edge of the windows. Skullivar went to fire again, but Zak held the shot by a shield from the body. "I need a plan, quickly," he thought. When Skullivar repeated his attack, Zak could not react in time, stumbled and held on to the edge of the dome with only one hand. "Zak!!" 

Grinning, Skullivar looked down at Zak. "When will you finally realise that you are too weak to compete with me? Chronos was wrong. You are nothing more than a small, weak child who thinks he is a hero." As he spoke, Zak looked into the depths. He would not survive a fall from such a height. Then the voices of his parents spoke in his head. "We are always proud of you, no matter what. You are our hero." These words gave Zak new strength. He pulled himself up and gave Skullivar a blow with Calabrass. "Okay, maybe I'm small and a kid, but you underestimate me and my friends. Together we are stronger than you will ever be." In Skullivar, anger raged. 

"Have you recovered?" Zak asked Calabrass. "Hardly. What are you up to? You don't want to-?" "Oh, that's exactly what I want. I must finally do my duty." Calabrass wanted to stop him. "No! This will kill you! You're not ready yet!" "I have to be! I have no other choice!" replied Zak. "Give me the Eye of Dezer!" He connected with Ria's amulet and his powers. "What did Upasa say again? The sound quake is one of the strongest attacks! And now I'm tripling the power." "You've gone completely crazy!" cried Calabrass in horror. Zak looked at Skullivar. "Hey, you Smoke Bomb! I have a gift for you!" Zak slammed his fist on the ground so that the whole floor spread big cracks and a quake was created that could be felt even outside the triangle.

Zak's father 

I felt a great shock. Strangely, there was no quake here, but when I looked out at the sea and the waves were beating faster than usual, I knew that Zak was behind it. "Zak, what have you done?!"

Skullivar faltered and Zak saw his chance. Skullivar shot at him, but Zak shot against it. Both put all their energy into the shot. "What is he doing?" asked Cece anxiously. "He's preparing for his last shot." 

"Okay, Calabrass! Give me everything you have left! Amulet of Chronos! Fusion with all the powers of the Seven Seas!" Zak's beam grew and took on a ray of bright colours. His eyes turned white as he pushed Skullivar further and further back. "No! This can't be! It's impossible!" Zak let out a scream and gave it his all again. "Where did you get this power from?" When the beam touched Skullivar, he cried out and a huge explosion followed, which even the people of Marituga saw. "NOOOOOOOO!"
