Zak's Point of View

I slowly woke up, dazed. I was alone - Bones must have been fed up at some point and had put me back in the cell. I had lost the sense of time, as I didn't know what time, let alone what day, we had today. Carefully, I sat up, and the chains were still on my wrists. I looked at my arm on which the scar from Aeria showed, and below it, the stab wound of the scorpion. I thought about it, the fact that my recklessness almost cost me my life twice, and I was not at all proud that there could be a third time now. "If only I had listened to Ria," I kept telling myself. Suddenly, I heard a door opening. Bones... accompanied by two soldiers. I didn't want to imagine what he was planning again. No one said a word. The two skeletons held me by the arms as Bones went out.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I saw daylight again. I saw Skullivar's fortress getting closer and closer, and the closer it came, the more I expected my end... Bones looked at me. "Now you're not so pretentious anymore, are you?" I did not react, as it would only aggravate my situation. The Demoniac had just docked and the gate closed... the last prospect of salvation. "Take good care of him, while I let Skullivar know."

Bones entered the throne room and bowed. "My Master, the boy is here..." Without turning around, Skullivar replied, "Well, bring him in! We have a lot to talk about." Bones bowed again before he left. "Of course..."

Zak's Point of View

Bones came back and put on a mischievous smile. "My Master awaits you..." With a nod of the head, the two skeletons brought me inside to Skullivar. Again, I had these chains that suppressed my powers. I looked up and looked into Skullivar's cold eyes.

S: "So, you decided to pay me a visit."

Z: "Yes, of course, as if I were doing this voluntarily."

S: "You do know I have plans in mind for you, boy."

Z: "What else do you want from me? I don't carry Calabrass with me!"

S: "Oh, this time I'm out for something else."

Z: "What should be more important to you than Calabrass?"

S: "Naïve child, I just wanted you. Your powers are unique and will help to get your friends out of the way first."

Z: "If you even touch them..."

S: "Why are you interested in them? Didn't they let you down? Didn't your sister betray you? You already understood me as-"

Z: "Yes, exactly, when you were in my head, however you did that."

S: "The book in the parallel world was cursed. When you touched it, a part of my dark power flowed into your body. It is precisely this essence that I need now to make you my devoted servant."

I couldn't defend myself. Skullivar approached me, held his hands to my head, and I tore open my eyes. I could not resist such a strong force. Little by little, I lowered my hands. "It's done," Skullivar said with satisfaction as he let go of me. When I opened my eyes, they had turned green, while Skullivar laughed mischievously.
