—HADDONFIELD, ILLINOIS [1990]: —[FOUR DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN]
"(Y/n), sweetness...! We've finally arrived." Your mother's voice called from the driver's seat to the back; heavy rain slamming against the car's windows while you wearily came to your senses.
"We've been travelling for hours. Where are we even moving to, anyway...?" You complained tiredly, rubbing at your eyes and stifling a rather sleepy yawn.
"Well, in order to avoid Kieran - and his rather...hurtful ways - I figured that moving to a quieter town would perhaps...force the restricting order he received to take effect sometime soon." Your mother explained with embarrassment, opening your car door for you and walking you over to the front of your new home.
"So...Where are we, exactly...?" You questioned exhaustedly, leaning against the front-door's frame with your arms folded.
"Why this lovely, little town is called Haddonfield." She answered warmly; giving you a happy hug before she started to carry said luggage from the trunk.
"I...see. Anything I can do to help...?" You politely offered, wrapping your arms around her in return.
"Hmm...Most of these boxes would be far too heavy for you...No need to worry though, the moving men will carry the rest of them in." Your mother told you lightly.
"So...what am I supposed to do...?" You quizzically asked, feeling pretty much useless while you walked inside with her.
"Why don't you start unpacking in your new bedroom...? It'll be fun." Trying to seem cheerful, your mother gestured upstairs and flashed your another smile - her comment making you want to groan.
"M'kay. Love you." You replied in a quiet voice, flicking your head behind your shoulders before heading upstairs.
The room seemed pleasant enough; what with nice, lilac-coloured walls, a white carpet floor and a cream ceiling. A pale bed was placed in the corner of the room, along with a desk next to it and a very large bookshelf beside the rest of the table-like furniture. Finishing off the bedroom's design, a glass window was right behind the desk; creating a pretty view of the street in front of your house and letting you see the outside world. Intrigued, you glanced through the window and looked through it properly, interested to see what was happening around you. Across the street were a few kids, one in particular catching your eye.
This boy had unusually dark-blonde hair, wearing a black t-shirt along with a thin jacket and denim jeans. He was skulking by his house; uncertain as to whether or not he should go in whilst his hand grasped the doorknob. But before he could open it and enter, an older girl opened the front door first - dressed up in a revealing outfit and covered in makeup. Apart from the lipstick and mascara, she looked a lot like him...perhaps she was a sister or some kind of sibling to him...? Her face twisted into a taunting smile - the older girl placing one hand on her hip and the other on the doorknob as she started speaking to the boy.
Curious, you undid the latch on your window and nudged it open a crack. "Sorry, Mikey-boy, but you're going to have to watch that movie by yourself today." The blonde-haired girl giggled in amusement, slinging her handbag over her shoulder and acting shallow. "I'm going over to Steve's."
"But Mom said that you'd watch the movie with me today. Y'know, whilst she was gone?" The boy reminded her angrily, annoyance flowing from his tone while he seemed to grow even more hurt.
