Clasping his left shoulder with your right hand, you gave it a soft squeeze, moving away a little bit and using your other one to lightly pull his white mask up; pressing your lips lovingly against his in order to calm him down even further. Michael was just worked-up, that's all. No carelessness clouding his actions. The only thing swirling around his thoughts now was surprise, the stiff male relaxing his stance almost instantly due to your kindhearted gesture and understanding attitude. So of course your partner kissed back, his hold on you lessening while he wrapped one arm around your waist and delicately cradled your cheek with the palm of his left.
"See...?" You comfortingly murmured against his lips, realising how many minutes had passed since you'd been interacting with Michael. "Like you said, "Whatever happens this afternoon, happens. Everything will be ok.". So I'm fine...for now. Everything will work out in the end. I just have to keep my cool at the moment, that's all."
Once you'd said that, you let go of the mask and tenderly pulled his hand away from your face, entwining your fingers with his whilst you looked at him with nothing but the utmost of warmth. "I'm going to grab that book and head back to my Dad now. Otherwise he'll probably grow suspicious - even more so - and start looking around for me. So will you please go back to where you were...? Pretty please?"
A few seconds passed before he dazedly dipped his head, agreeing to your calm demand as he gave your hand an affectionate squeeze in return. Then, he left the room again, disappearing down the hallway and presumably going back to his hiding place. With a relieved smile, you picked up the book from your bedside table and tucked it under your arm, hurrying back to the living room and quickly apologising to your father about the unexpected wait. Because, to be perfectly honest, you could already tell that your "Be right back!" was an absolutely terrible thing to say, considering how long you'd spent with Michael.
Instead, you made up the excuse that you'd forgotten where you'd last left the book and had to search for it. "So this book will explain why you thought it was a good idea to team up with that...that psychopath...?" Your stepfather summed up sternly, taking the book from you and flicking to the start of said novel.
Silence lashed down like heavy rain a second time, the atmosphere spiralling into nothing but an invisible and quiet wind whilst the two of you both took a seat on the sofas again. You wondered what he would be thinking as his expression switched from one of exasperation, to one of shock - not expecting the events from the past to be so horrifying and traumatic. Now all you had to do was twist the truth a little bit about this year's Halloween, learn about your Mom's whereabouts, and then you were all set to spend the rest of the day with Michael. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy~
"So...This Michael Myers kid...Killed his classmate...Killed his family...Grew obsessive over you...And tried to strangle your mother to death by the neck...?" Your stepfather read aloud with a stressed-out tone, wanting to hear if what was written down was right.
"Please make your way over to the ambulance so we can check your neck, Ma'am."
"I-I can't leave my daughter alone. She's been through so much already, she needs to go home and be looked after!"
"...Yes...?" You answered in a tiny voice, biting your lip and growing stressed. "But I swear! That's the only reason I teamed up with Dr. Loomis, Dad! I just wanted to team up with him to learn about my past, because once I'd moved away with Mom - to live with Aunty Claire - I didn't remember any of my childhood memories. It was sheer curiosity, that's all."
"So you didn't just agree on a whim...?" He suspiciously spoke, his annoyed attitude fading as he became less and less distraught. "It was because you wanted to know if you were the little girl written in the book...?"
