As you and Michael played catch during lunchtime, you discussed your Halloween plans for this evening; you and Michael both growing excited. Well, that was until he sighed. "Michael...? What's wrong...?" You asked anxiously, feeling worried when he unexpectedly looked down instead.
"I wanted to start Trick-or-Treating with you tonight. Well, you and Judith. But now that I think about it, you might have to wait for me. Or even worse, start alone." Catching the ball between his hands, the blonde boy stared down dejectedly - his words making him look downcast.
"Is everything alright? Did you get in trouble with your Mom after all or something...?" You timidly theorised, biting your lip as you thought back to yesterday - back to the fight.
"Nah. My Mom never cares about stupid stuff like that." Michael grinned devilishly, finding your response to be funny. "It's just the detention I've been given, that's why I'll probably be late after-school today."
"Oh..." You faintly trailed off - hearing the bell ring to signify the end of lunch. "I'm still sorry about that. I didn't mean for you to—"
"(Y/n), (Y/n), relax. Like I said, I get tons of them. And this isn't the first time. Chambers is just a bore." Shrugging it off, Michael chuckled and gave you a very soothing hug - the sudden embrace from him throwing you off completely.
"Still, I'll wait until I see you get home. Maybe then we'll have some time left to go Trick-or-Treating together!" You told Michael brightly, trying your hardest to cheer him up and see Halloween in a hopeful light.
"Cool. Judith's supposed to take me Trick-or-Treating, so you could join in with us. It'll be fun, I promise!" Michael suggested - sounding enthusiastic - and you smiled in response, tickled by his excitement.
"I'd love to!" You agreed in a bubbly tone, forgetting what the other boy had told you earlier and instead thinking about your news plans to go Trick-or-Treating. "But right now, we should probably get back to class."
"I guess..." Michael impatiently gave in, the blonde boy now smiling while you held his hand and tugged him back in the direction of the school building.

"Hey (Y/n)! How was school? Are you excited for Halloween?" Your mother asked cheerfully, wrapping her arms around you as soon as you opened the front door and stepped in.
"Oh, uh, yeah." Forcing a smile, you decided to forgive her for yesterday and return her hug; wanting tonight to run smoothly.
"So what would you like to do for Halloween? We could watch some movies, bake some Halloween treats, carve a couple of pumpkins, whatever like that." Your mother recommended warmly, breaking away from the hug to let you drop your bag and breathe.
"That sounds...fun." You hesitantly commented, already knowing what you were about to say. "But I'd really like to spend some of my time Trick-or-Treating tonight. With a new friend. Even if it's just for a little bit."
"Oh...Who's the new friend? Is it that Myers boy?" Your mother questioned with a stressed expression, clearly not trusting Michael anymore after his mother's recent behaviour towards her.
"Maybe..." You mumbled in despair, quickly coming to an empathetic conclusion. "But...But you told me when growing up that I should never judge a book by its cover. So c'mon. You can't judge Michael just because his mother acted a little out of hand."
"I...I guess I did teach you that." Musing over your words, her agitated attitude slowly shattered; your mother seeing your point while she released a sorrowful sigh. "But isn't it a tad bit early to start Trick-or-Treating...?"
