"(Y/n)? What-?" Opening her apartment's front door, Ali hurried over to yours - gasping in terrified confusion after suddenly seeing the disturbing image that you had.
"What's going on...? Is everything alright...?" Laurie called from Alina's front door curiously, frowning at both of your sudden shocks. "Nothing wrong, is there...?"
"Nothing to concern yourself with. Laurie, go back inside my apartment." Ali's tone switched to a more stern one; her serious expression throwing you off whilst she acted unusually fierce and severe.
"Oh, uh...Sure..." Laurie timidly agreed, spinning around and heading inside without any arguing whatsoever.
"(Y/n), call Dr. Loomis. Now." Alina ordered firmly, wrapping her arm around your waist while she steered you away from the horrifying scene. "We can't handle this without his guidance and advice."
Giving her a feeble nod, you whipped out your phone and quickly dialled his number; relieved when he picked up relatively fast. "(Y/n)? What's wrong? What happened?" Dr. Loomis gravely inquired, skipping the pleasant introductions and heading straight to the situation at hand.
"I...I-I really don't know how to explain..." You stammered faintly, shaking as you accepted Ali's embrace and felt slightly comforted. "If I'm honest, I think Ali might be able to explain better than I can."
"Why don't you pass me over to her then?" Dr. Loomis suggested with a casual tone; his idea making you feel more calm whilst you agreed and handed the phone to Alina.
A couple of minutes passed before she hung up, your friend turning to face you fully while she gave you your phone back. "He said that he was on his way, and that this was most definitely Michael's work." She uneasily explained, shifting from foot-to-foot and trying her best to keep everything under control.
"H-How can he tell-!?" You blurted out in fright, hugging your arms and huddling into Ali with distress. "How can he tell that Michael is behind all of...all of this-!?"
"That's what we're about to find out." Alina coldly responded; clearly aggravated by the threatening act of violence.
Several minutes passed before Dr. Loomis - and a few police officers - pulled up on the scene; the child psychologist rushing to your side and checking that you were still alright. "Yes. This is definitely Michael's work." He confirmed darkly, staring down at the dead animal and releasing a disappointed sigh.
"How can you be so sure...?" You anxiously argued; now feeling extremely worked-up and on-edge by this point. "For all we know, this could be some sick teen pulling a prank and trying to scare me because Halloween is tomorrow and they think it's funny."
"Possibly. But I've seen what he could do as a child. It's only natural that his...his hobbies would pop up as well. No doubt about it, Michael is definitely in Haddonfield." Shaking his head, Dr. Loomis bent down to take a further look at the deceased creature himself, inspecting your bloodstained name and taking several notes of what Michael had done.
"H-How did he know that I lived here, anyway...?" You shakily questioned, trying to contain your panic and instead failing. He knew, he knew, he knew.
"He must've heard it from around town. The people of Haddonfield aren't exactly adept at keeping things quiet." Alina brought up with a sarcastic tone of voice, rolling her eyes and also looking back towards the dead animal.
"I can assure you that I didn't tell Michael anything about your whereabouts, nor your locations. He didn't know where you were as a child and he certainly didn't know that you'd moved back. The only way he would've known is if he learnt from around town." Dr. Loomis theorised thoughtfully, placing his thumb and forefinger underneath his chin while he mulled things over in his mind.
"Well (Y/n), what do you want to do? It's all up to you. I can help you get relocated...or you can help us try and stop Michael. It's your decision." The child psychologist quietly mentioned - giving you a choice.
"I...I do want to help. But this...this is way out of my league. I don't know how to catch killers, or how to lure them to me, or whatever else we talked about...!" Growing alarmed again, you took a step back and ran a hand through your hair; feeling more and more afraid with every passing second.
"Nor should you! You're in way over your head, so don't feel bad about—"
"Please don't baby her, Alina. She's not a child anymore, she can make her own decisions." Dr. Loomis interrupted your best friend stiffly, sending Ali an unexpected glare while they started to argue.
"Well, stop treating her like she's some kind of special agent! Michael Myers is a deranged psychopath - he'll kill her, and you know he will. All you want to do is write another book!" Ali spat back; returning his resentful glare and looking at him with the utmost disgust.
"You...You want to write another book on me...?" Surprise fluttered across your face whilst you faced Dr. Loomis, not expecting such a malicious reply from her.
"I can promise you, all I want to do at the moment is to stop Michael. But if you don't help me, Haddonfield will become one bloody mess - a corpse of a once thriving town." Dr. Loomis sorrowfully pointed out.
"Don't you DARE guilt-trip my best friend!" Ali snapped protectively, standing in front of you and starting to hate the child psychologist. "(Y/n), don't listen to him and that nonsense. Haddonfield won't dissolve into that sort of mess. Just let the police handle this."
"I...I-I..." You didn't know how to respond - the fight or flight response kicking in as your fear massively increased.
Then you ran away from them, the pressure and fright choking you until you could barely breathe. Their yells of alarm, becoming quieter and quieter whilst you sprinted into a wood-like area. Being alone...Being able to clear your mind...That was what you really needed. Now you could actually breathe. You wandered further and further into the woods, wiping the tears from your eyes and taking several deep breaths. But what were you supposed to do!? On one hand, you wanted to do what Alina suggested - to let the police handle it and hide away. But on the other hand, you wanted to do what Loomis had planned - to stop Michael before he had the chance to hurt anyone.
Both ideas seemed equally appealing, but Alina's idea felt cowardly to choose. Though, facing off against a psychopath...that sent shivers up and down your spine almost immediately. "What to do, what to do...I can't make big decisions like this...I feel so alone..." You wailed in despair, standing still and hugging your arms tearfully.
"What would Alina do...? No...No...What would Laurie do...? She's in the same boat, right...?" You complained in frustration, gritting your teeth and trying your hardest to calm down. "Gah, no...I can't make a choice like them, this is something I have to do on my own...!"
Tensing up, a twig snapped behind you and alerted you of someone spying, causing a surge of anger and hate to swell up in your heart. What right did they have to spy on you!? Especially since you were having a moment! So, you snatched up a stick as a means of defence and decided to find out who was stalking you, once and for all...! No more...No more of this...! With a sound of fury, you leapt through some of the bushes and wildly swung, proud when you hit something.
"Hah! That's what you get for spying, you no-good, son of a bi—!" You stopped a second later; watching a fox slink away unhappily.
"Are you fucking kidding me!? Gaaaaaaaah!" You growled and threw the stick violently - seeing it soar through the air. Stupid stick.
