"W-What are you talking about-? They were fine when I went to babysit Tommy." She faintly denied.

"Michael saw an opportunity and he took it. He...He killed your parents. That means he's going to come for you next." You pointed out - acting very serious.

"Let us walk you to Lindsey's house - it's not safe. Not at all." Wrapping her arm around the stunned teen, Ali did her best to explain, trying to snap her out of the sudden shock.

"Lindsey, right? Awesome costume." You switched your attention to the little girl and flashed her a smile; not wanting her Halloween to be ruined.

"Thanks." She was awfully polite for a kid; her blue eyeshadow and red lipstick smudged ever-so-slightly.

"Let's get you home, Lindsey. I'm sure you're very tired after all of this." Alina joined in as you all crossed the street - your best friend steering the shaken Laurie. But Laurie shook her head and spun back around, wanting to head towards her own house.

"I'm not tired. I wanted to finish watching the movie I was watching with Tommy." Lindsey complained bluntly.

"I said you could finish it tomorrow." Laurie weakly interceded, her face pale.

"But I wanted to finish it tonight!" The young girl whined in a sulky voice, stomping her foot and causing Laurie to lose her temper.

"Well, you can finish it tomorrow! It's just a stupid movie, Lindsey!" Laurie shrieked hatefully - forcing the kid to lapse into silence with a hurt expression.

"Hey, hey...It'll be okay, Laurie. We just need to get her home and then we can come up with another plan." Calming her down; Ali played the peacemaker and tried to keep everything under control, regaining her own composure in the process.

"Y-Yeah. M-Maybe Mom and Dad are okay...I-I mean they could be...right?" Laurie mumbled, her trauma forcing her to think positive and revert back to when she last saw them.

"Um...Well, they—"
"Let's focus on getting safe for now." Switching the subject, you interrupted Alina and tried to make sure Laurie wouldn't break down in front of Lindsey. It wasn't fair on the little girl.

Laurie nodded and Ali threw you a worried look - like she knew shit had hit the fan. Soon, you were all at Lindsey's house. "Annie? We're coming in...! You'd better be decent." Laurie called as she opened the front door with a spare front door key.

"Where are the lights...?" She couldn't see anything in the dark; in fact, none of you could.

"Here." Lindsey moved to the side and flicked on the light-switch, the hallway now being illuminated.

Once the light came on, Laurie released a horrified scream; her eyes shining with fear whilst her entire body trembled. Lindsey also screeched, the little girl tremendously scared. You soon found out why, you and Ali both frozen to the floor with fright. A teenage girl's body was strewn in the hallway, slowly bleeding out but still...alive? Another body was also hanging from the ceiling - a Jack-o'-lantern shoved into their head as they subtly swayed, to-and-fro.

"ANNIE! Oh, my God, Annie!" Laurie cried out hysterically, collapsing to her knees and rolling the girl over. "Lindsey, run home! Go call the police. GO!"

"But Laurie, we're at Lindsey's house...?" Alina tried to tell the opposite blonde in confusion, but Lindsey had already rushed out - presumably to Tommy's house.

"Help! Help! Help!" The ginger-haired girl howled in distress, running into the street to find help for you and the others.

"Oh, my GOD, honey! Are you alive!? Oh, baby, what happened...!?" Laurie sobbed over her wounded friend - definitely upset.

"He's...in..." The friend croaked out, however Laurie didn't hear - due to being too panicked.

"I'm going to call the police. Okay? I-I promise...!" Cradling her friend's face for a second or two, Laurie then took off towards the house's main phone; freaking out.

"Ali, I need you with me on this. Go make sure that Lindsey's okay, alright? She's a little girl for Christ's sake. I'll stay with her friend until then - and make sure she stays conscious." You instructed fiercely, your best friend giving a dazed nod before leaving your side.

"R-Right. Stay safe, (Y/n)." Nodding, Alina hurried out of the house - going off to find the confused and upset child.

"SHIT!" You heard Laurie swear from the living room; probably fumbling with the telephone and panicking still.

"Laurie...Laurie..." Her friend you were watching over wailed - catching your attention.

"She's calling for an ambulance, it's gonna be okay - you're gonna be okay, alright?" You stumbled over your words as you frantically tried to soothe the injured girl, biting your lip due to anxiety.

"LAURIE!" Her friend's voice grew louder - moaning the blonde's name at the top of her lungs and sounding desperate.

"I promise she's getting someone to help you! J-Just hang in there! Please!" You placed a hand on top of hers and prayed Laurie was almost done with the phone call.

"Baby! Baby, hold on, okay? Annie, they're coming—!" Laurie wept tearfully.

"LAURIEEEEE!" Her friend shrieked her name at her - and that's when you understood. "He's in..." She wasn't afraid of dying anymore, she was afraid for Laurie. Because someone else was in the house.

Your head snapped up as Laurie got pulled away from the phone; the phone dangling by the wire whilst the operator kept calling out for her attention. Shit, of course Michael got here first. That would make sense as to why Laurie's friend Annie was alive in the first place. She was bait. This whole time the three of you thought that you and Laurie were luring Michael out, when in fact it was reversed. He was one step ahead - he'd always been one step ahead. Running into the kitchen, you saw the pale-masked stalker standing in front of you; his back turned while he silently approached Laurie.

Panicking, she threw pans and other kitchen things at him before running into the living room; losing the rest of her sanity as she screamed at him again. Tugging at the double-door handles that lead to the outside, the blonde broke down even further, cursing as she wondered why they wouldn't open. But you'd already come to that conclusion. Gritting your teeth, you ran into the living room after them - realising that Laurie wouldn't be able to handle Michael on her own. She didn't understand. She thought she was going to die. You'd have to do something about this. And fast.

"Leave her alone!" You shouted with a trembled tone, icy fear washing over your body when he tilted his head at you. He absolutely recognised you - or at least your voice - which only added to the creepy atmosphere. Maybe he would listen to you? Or at least spare Laurie?

Hysterical by this point, Laurie grabbed a chair and smashed one of the glass doors open - skidding outside and catching her older brother's attention once more. You attempted to run after her, but the stalker's hand curled around your neck; a pained gasp slipped through your lips as he slammed you unexpectedly against the wall. You stared at him with wide eyes, wondering if your "old friend" would actually hurt you. Would he...? Did he think you were going to throw something at him too...?

What you didn't expect was for him to relax his grip, the killer "supposedly" having mercy for you. Why would he—? Your silent question got cut short as he got you in a chokehold and waited for you to lose consciousness, forcing you to fall into his arms whilst the world around you faded into nothing but darkness. You couldn't protect Laurie. You couldn't protect any of her friends. You couldn't protect Ali. And you couldn't stop Michael. You were left completely defenceless...and there was nothing you could do. Nothing.
