Anxiety knotted from the pit of your stomach, your heart racing due to knowing your time was up. Well, maybe not your "time". More like...More like checking up on your parents and their whereabouts. They probably left your younger step-sister at home anyway - so she was safe. But this thing Ali was bringing to help explain what happened during the police interrogation, that was what worried you. And another thing, those three sharp knocks...That didn't sound like Alina. Her bangs were more polite, more pleasant. These ones felt like they were more serious, more...stern, almost. You couldn't tell who it was. Hopefully it wasn't the police.

Moving your forehead away from Michael's, you were about to break the warm-hearted hug between you two - to open the door and face your fears - when your boyfriend gripped both of your wrists, his expression stern as he forced you to stay exactly where you were. Of course. An hour or two ago he was fine with it. But now? Now he was acting overprotective and obsessive over you again. It was like he didn't trust who was behind that door. Because he'd come to the same conclusion that you had. Whoever had knocked wasn't Alina. So who...? Who had knocked at the very same time that you and her had decided to speak to one another...? Was this merely a coincidence?

"Michael, c'mon. You agreed to let me talk to Alina, as long as she came here instead of me going over there. So don't do this. They'll grow suspicious if I don't open the door." You pointed out patiently, trying your best to keep calm while you pulled backwards a second time. You knew he wasn't happy, but this was something you had to do - whether your possessive partner liked it or not.

Though whilst you were walking into the hallway of your apartment - to open the front door without any suspicion - Michael stopped you again, his desperate hand-holding causing sarcasm to cloud your eyes as they uncontrollably rolled. "I'm not budging on this." You declared, deciding to stand up for yourself and be assertive instead. "I know you'll have my back. You always have and you always will. But you need to get out of sight. Please. This'll only take part of the afternoon. Now go."

His grasp on you lessened; Michael's gaze flickering between not only frustration, but hesitation too. In the end, the moody male gave you a curt nod - releasing your hands whilst he decided to trust your decision and disappear from sight like he'd promised. But not before he'd snatched up his white mask from where he'd left it and slipped it over his face; the bloodstained killer resuming his natural appearance in order to not leave anything behind. You were about to thank him - grateful for him giving in for once and relenting - but before you could, he'd already moved past you, having stealthily sped his way through the hallway within seconds.

Your eyes widened, not expecting Michael to be able to vanish from your line of view so easily. H-He...He was right next to you...wasn't he? Anyway...After shaking your head, you took a deep breath and stood directly in front of where the knock sounded - your front door. This was it. You'd find out why your parents hadn't visited. Why Alina was so tense about telling you the honest truth. And why today felt like it was about to become a complete and utter shit-show. You breathed out, your hand twisting around the doorknob whilst you demanded yourself to open the door. So...you did. You opened the door. But what you saw—

"G-Gabby-!?" You stuttered in surprise, stunned by her sudden arrival and why she was here in the first place. Gabby was your much-younger step-sister, with dark-brown hair and sharp-blue eyes. And although you enjoyed her company— "I-I don't understand. H...How did you...? Why are you—?"
