"Hey there, what can I do for you?" A blonde-haired girl opened the door merrily; her voice bright and bubbly whilst she stood there.
"Oh, uh...We're looking for Laurie Strode, do you know her...? Is this the right house...?" You anxiously asked, feeling a bit awkward yourself as you spoke to her with Alina.
"Know her? I am her! What's up? What can I do for you?" She grinned and leant against the front door's door frame, her golden curls bouncing around her shoulders while she did said actions.
"Did you meet up with Dr. Loomis earlier...?" You quietly questioned, Ali falling silent and letting you do the speaking. "About um...Michael Myers...by any chance...?"
"Oh...Yeah. About that. He told me I was the little sister of Michael Myers. Had the adoption papers to prove it." Laurie's happy tone faltered and she released a gusty sigh; seeming somehow depressed about said news.
"My name's (Y/n), and this is Alina. Dr. Loomis visited me as well - he told me Michael was after me too." You told her timidly, Ali giving Laurie a gentle wave.
"Oh, I see. Do you wanna like...come in...?" Opening the door fully, Laurie bashfully gestured inside and invited the two of you in - clearly trying to be hospitable.
"Yes please." Ali nodded with a smile; rubbing her cold hands together and sounding relatively grateful for the offer.
The three of you walked inside and Laurie took you to her room; saying that she hadn't told her parents about Dr. Loomis's visit yet. "I don't want to freak them out." She explained unhappily, sitting on the edge of her bed and sighing a second time. "Because if I tell them alone I know I'll break down, and then they'll give me curfews and other overprotective stuff, and...and it'll be bloody insane."
"Believe me, I know the feeling. After Michael broke the law all those years ago, my mom took me out of town completely! I've only just managed to move back here alone - and I'm (Y/a)...!" You laughed a little at the end, and so Laurie giggled too - plainly wanting to lighten the atmosphere somehow.
"I'm just relieved that I'm not the only one my...my brother is going after." She nervously remarked, sitting on her bed fully before hugging her knees.
"It must've been hard for you...to learn about your past." Alina commented softly, trying to join in the conversation and wanting to help at the very same time.
"Is it true...? That you knew him...? Did you know that he was going to...to do that...?" Laurie wondered worriedly, readjusting her glasses as she waited for your response.
"I knew him, but I...I didn't know. I snuck out on Halloween to see him, but when we talked, he was acting...off. It scared me." You confessed in a stressed-out manner, sitting down on the bed whilst you replied.
"So...what do we do...? Dr. Loomis didn't really seem to have a plan, and just "baiting" my older brother out isn't exactly that helpful." Laurie spoke in a small voice - staring at the both of you with fear.
"Dr. Loomis told us to just stick together and keep an eye out." Ali comforted the younger girl and attempted to be kind, sitting down on the bed as she wrapped an arm around Laurie's shoulder.
"I-I just don't want to die." Laurie's eyes filled with panicked tears whilst she hugged Alina - her mood switching from false happiness to frightened alarm. "I...I just don't understand why my big brother would be after me..."
"You won't get hurt." Ali promised Laurie affectionately, rubbing her back a little as the wavy-haired girl calmed down. "(Y/n) and I will look out for you. Besides, all we have to do is bait Myers out - the police and Dr. Loomis will catch him. So you see...? The situation is 100% under control."
"Yeah, Ali's right. And hey, it's not just you he's after - he wants me too. So we're in it together. The both of us." You chimed in courageously - definitely wanting to help in some way.
"Thanks, you two. I would tell my friends, but I don't think they'd believe me." Laurie weakly laughed again - though this time her laughter was slightly stronger. "I know! Why don't we have a sleepover? It'll be harder to separate if we're in the same place."
"Where would we have it? Our place?" You dreaded having to clean up, especially since you still needed to finish unpacking and fix up your place. Luckily, you didn't have to.
"How about my apartment? Because if Michael - by some random chance - knows your addresses, he won't find you there." Alina smartly suggested.
"Good idea." You agreed - and Laurie dipped her head - all of you game. But then—
"Crap, I have to babysit on Halloween though." She mumbled nervously, clutching a pillow and stressing out even further. Guess she wasn't too good when dealing with stressful situations.
"Well...What if we all Skyped on Halloween...? That way, if one of us hears a noise or sees something suspicious, the other two can help. Y'know, like, one goes to the police and one sprints to step-in." You helpfully soothed, wanting to calm Laurie down and create a plan all at the same time.
Pleased, they both nodded; obviously grateful by your benevolent idea. "We're a great team...!" Alina complimented cheerfully; all of you giving each other high-fives and trying your best to brighten the mood somehow.
"So to finalise - we're having a sleepover tonight, tomorrow, and then Skyping on Halloween...?" You double-checked one last time; calming down a tiny bit due to the newly-made plan with Laurie.
"That's the plan." The wavy-haired girl brightened up, releasing a few shy giggles when she realised that she wasn't truly alone in these threatening times.
"We'll wait for you downstairs while you pack a bag then." After the two of you hugged Laurie, you both made your way downstairs; staying patient as she quickly shoved some clothes into a bag and hoisted it onto her shoulder.
Then, the three of you left her house; walking over to Alina's and entering her apartment instead of your own. "Oh hold on, if I'm going to sleep over at your place, I'm going to need some clothes and other essentials." You suddenly thought aloud, breaking free of the group and facing your front door instead.
"But we need to stick together!" Laurie freaked out almost immediately, grasping your wrist and stopping you from leaving.
"She's right, (Y/n). Who knows when Michael Myers could appear...?" Ali was taking this very seriously, her expression twisting into one of worry and concern.
"Michael hasn't appeared so far. So I highly doubt that he's going to teleport right next to me. I'll be okay, so go on - I'll be back in five minutes." You called as you walked away from them, giving them a gentle wave before entering your apartment and closing the door.
Paranoia washed over you like water; the sudden silence making you feel somewhat uneasy and unsure whilst you threw some clothes and other essentials into a rucksack before zipping it closed. Gritting your teeth, you forced yourself to calm down and take a few deep breaths, remembering that you were just fine. After all, you had Dr. Loomis, Laurie, and Alina on your side. Nothing to be afraid of. You were going to have a fun sleepover with Ali and your new friend - Laurie now, so everything would work out just fine. A flash of white caught your attention down the apartment building's hallway and you thought you saw something, but when you looked back to check you saw nothing.
Once you'd knocked on Alina's front door, she let you in; leading you into the living room and taking your bag for you. Thankfully, her actions calmed you down and you felt less stressed, breathing out as you relaxed your shoulders a tad. Should you tell them about the flash of white you just saw down the end of the hall...? Nah, that was way too random. It could've been anything. You definitely didn't want to end up like the boy who cried Wolf. Especially due to the predicament you were already in.
