"—But even though his clothes were covered in fresh blood and dirt, Michael still has no recollection of the event."
"What's worse, is that in spite of everything, this ten-year-old boy is continuously asking about his one and only true friend (Y/n), and if he'll ever be able to see her again." You read to yourself in a troubled tone, biting your lip and feeling strangely distressed. Why...?
Why was it that your parents never told you about this...? And how come your mind has found it so...so easy to shut away such an emotional event...? Shortly after you'd read the start of this book to yourself, your phone received a text - indicating that Ali had messaged you. Oh, thank goodness, some food.
"(Y/n)? Is everything alright?" Alina asked anxiously, finishing her food before looking back up at you with worry. "You've been strangely quiet ever since we checked that library book out. Was there something in there that set you off...? Because if so, you know you can always—"
"It's just...What if that Dr. Loomis's discoveries and findings really ARE based on a true story...?" You replied in an uneasy tone, finishing up your own food and taking your dishes over to the sink. "I guess I'm just finding this all a bit too much to take in. Especially when it's all about...Well, me."
"That's understandable. But if that's the case, then why not contact the guy...?" Ali suggested helpfully, standing next to you whilst she washed the dishes - including your own, using the excuse that since you were a guest in her apartment, they were her dishes anyway.
"You mean actually call this Dr. Loomis fellow...?" You repeated in surprise, feeling super shy all of a sudden and wondering how to do so.
"Well, according to his book-slash-biography, he seemed to have met you from you were a little kid. So if that really is true, then why not have him prove it...?" Alina comforted you with a tinge of mischief, clearly wanting to test whether or not this Doctor was being truthful about your past. "That way, you can find out for sure what went on and what didn't."
"Yeah...Yeah...! That sounds like a good idea. I'll probably find his number or something in the library book and call him in the morning. Thanks, Alina." You decided in a relieved voice, giving her a gentle hug before brushing your teeth and saying goodnight afterwards.
But even though you fell asleep in your bedroom insanely fast, nightmarish thoughts began clouding your mind; those melancholy memories feeling almost surreal as they hurt your heart. "I-I...I trusted...I...I didn't know he'd...I-I mean—"

"I know...I know."
"JUDITH! JUDITH! MY BABY!"
"Come on, we need to let the police deal with all of this. Let's get you home."
"Mom!""DON'T leave me! Don't you DARE leave me! You, me and Boo, we're a team! We're a...We're a FAMILY! DON'T let them ruin it! DON'T let them! (Y/N)!"
"No! NO! Let GO of me! LET GO OF ME! She's MINE, (Y/n)'s MINE! No! NO!"
"JUDITH! JUDITH!""Please make your way over to the ambulance so we can check your neck, Ma'am."
"I-I can't leave my daughter alone. She's been through so much already, she needs to go home and be looked after!""We'll see to it that someone looks after her, please don't fret."
"But, I...I...Okay."
"I'll be back soon, sweetie. Go back to the house with the nice lady and try to forget about tonight, alright? Don't listen to what he just screamed at you. It'll be okay. Everything will be okay. I love you, honey."
"I love you too."
