"Sooooo..." Alina innocently probed, an interested glance spreading across her face while she held up the book and smiled. "How come you may or may not be in this story...?"
"I don't even know if I'm in said book or not." Rolling your eyes, you released a groan and shook your head; feeling partly self-conscious and half-embarrassed. "What's it called again, anyway...?"
"The Devil's Eyes"." Ali read aloud in amusement - flipping open the book before skimming her eyes over the prologue. "Released this year. Fifteen years after the incident. Aka, 2005."
"Oh...? Sounds fascinating." You commented offhandedly, trying your hardest to sound interested as you both kept walking home.
"That's funny..." Your friend intensely murmured, her voice trailing off and making you feel moderately uneasy.
"What's funny...? What's up...?" You asked defensively, frowning in confusion whilst you watched Ali start to read the beginning.
"I thought it would be like, an old news report or something, but this book's incredibly dark. Heads straight into the psychologist's discoveries and revelations." She mentioned with a dubious look of her own.
"What, there's no proper depth or intro to the prologue...?" You curiously pushed, throwing her a puzzled gaze once you'd both reached Ali's apartment front door.
"Yeah...The prologue's layout is so strange..." After unlocking it, Ali stared back down at the book; reading through the first part while the two of you sat in her living room. "Ah, here we go. Halloween, nineteen-ninety. Here are my records of the previous events. Now it doesn't matter whether you believe me or not, or whether or not you think of this book as nothing more than blood money - but I'm writing this regardless."
"He seems pretty gloomy." You wryly remarked, deciding to make you and Alina both your favourite drink before sitting down next to her. "Jeez. What an upbeat guy."
"Apparently this guy was a child psychologist. Dr. Samuel Loomis." Still reading the book, she accepted the drink and placed the book on the table for a minute or two, her comment causing you to feel more and more uneasy. "Well, more specifically, Michael Myers' psychologist."
"Okay...? So what does this have to do with me exactly...?" You questioned quizzically, taking a sip of your own drink and trying not to feel creeped out. After all, this was just a story. Just something that had taken place fifteen years ago...Wasn't it...?
"(Y/n)..." Alina awkwardly spoke, picking up the book again and handing it to you on a certain page. "It has your full name in it. Right there, see...? (Y/n) (L/n), a little girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. She met Michael when she was merely (y/a), her and her mother having only recently moved to Haddonfield a few days before the incident."
"You're kidding me." Your eyes widening in surprise, you snatched this "Dr. Loomis's" biography straight out of Alina's grasp and started to read it yourself - unable to believe what you'd just heard.
"I couldn't gather much information from Ms (L/n) or her daughter - but what I did collect from this close family of two, was that this ten-year-old boy was no ordinary boy. These eyes will deceive you. They will destroy you. They will take from you your innocence, your pride, and eventually your soul. These eyes do not see what you and I see."
