"You got this for me?" Jolting out of your thoughts, Michael held some sweets in his hands; a surprised expression shooting across his face while you gave him a few sweets the next day.

"Yeah. It's a thank-you present." You shyly spoke, sitting on the bench next to him.

You were both outside for lunch, the sun shining through the silvery clouds and warming up the cold day a little bit. Today was Halloween - all the children talking about their costumes and their plans. But you still hadn't thought about how you would spend it though...Maybe you could spend it with Michael...? Or perhaps he already had plans...? Hey, at least your classes today had turned into fun activities because of Halloween! Hell, whatever happened - today would surely be fun, no matter what.

"You don't have to thank me." Michael shook his head and smiled, pocketing the candy as he threw you a grateful glance.

"You got a detention, all because Wesley and his friends picked on me, so the least I can do is thank you." You timidly argued.

"That made me so mad." Michael said slowly, his eyes glowing from unhinged anger whilst his mood suddenly switched again.

"Well my Mom talked to the school counsellor - they're going to stop Wesley from picking on people...somehow. So it's all good, 'kay?" You nervously touched his arm and tried to calm him down, seeing how easily worked up he got over Wesley.

"He deserves much worse than just "being talked to." I wish he'd just die." Michael muttered bitterly, behaving strangely different."...I don't feel sorry for bullies."

"Michael~" You sighed as you left the subject alone, not wanting to stir his rage any further.

"Not everyone can be as nice as you are." He grinned impishly, some admiration mixed into his sentence.

"Yeah they can." You giggled and brushed a stray bit of your hair behind your ear.

"No they can't."
"Yes they can!"
"No they can't!"

Your playful bickering went on for a few minutes, both of you laughing and amusing yourselves. Then Michael suggested playing with a ball, running off to go get one. Unfortunately, Wesley appeared again - two boys either side of him as he approached you. Guess he couldn't exactly take down Michael last time, so he went and got support.

"What do you two want?" You asked with annoyance.

"Thanks to you and that freak Mikey I've got a detention. The next time I see you, you're dead." Wesley sneered, cracking his knuckles to look tougher.

"Can't you just leave us alone?" You pointedly asked; glaring at all three of them. "After all, at least Michael didn't use his friends to help him fight. And he didn't even lose it."

"Who asked you, you little bitch?" Wesley growled and took a step closer to you, acting as though he wanted to teach you a lesson.

He was about to lay a hand on you when he stopped, looking to his left and gritting his teeth. Turns out a teacher was staring at him strictly, waiting to act if Wesley decided to continue bullying. Michael was watching the teacher and Wesley; glaring hatefully as he clutched a bouncy ball between his hands. Thankfully, Wesley swore under his breath and began to flounce off, shooting you a dark look.
