"Will you be alright...?" Your mother asked anxiously, bringing you into a worried cuddle and checking you over. "You don't need me to walk you to school...?"

"I'll be fine, Mom." You patiently denied, hugging her back and trying not to show your irritation. "Haddonfield Elementary School isn't that far away from where we live."

"You've got your packed lunch?"
"Yep."
"You've got the textbooks I got you?"
"Mmhm."
"You've got your phone in case you need something...?"
"...Mom."

"I know, I know, I'm being a worry-wart. I just don't want you to struggle on your first day." She chuckled in amusement, running a hand through her hair after the hug you two'd shared. "It is the beginning of the week after all. I don't want it to be difficult."

"I'll be fine. I'm not a little kid." You reassured her calmly, heading towards the front door and unlocking it.

"I know that. I was just—"

"Michael—?!" You exclaimed in surprise, not expecting the blonde-haired boy that you'd only just met to be standing directly in front of your house.

"Hey, (Y/n). Are you, um...Are you walking to school with anyone today?" Michael greeted you awkwardly, grasping his backpack's strap and glancing over to the side.

"Oh, uh...No, I wasn't." Shaking your head, you regained your composure and pulled your backpack over your shoulder, not wanting to seem rude. "Would you like to walk to school together...?"

"Yeah...!" He agreed with enthusiasm, losing his hostile attitude from yesterday and moving over to the sidewalk.

"Bye, Mom." You called towards your mother pleasantly, giving her a warm wave before leaving the front door completely and joining Michael's side.

"So how come you and your family moved to Haddonfield then...?" He quizzed casually, curiosity flowing from his tone while he sounded genuinely interested.

"I don't really remember much..." You timidly responded, feeling hugely hesitant as you tried your best to remember your past. "But it had something to do with my Mom and Dad's relationship. They got divorced, but my Dad wouldn't give up - something along those lines. My Mom, she...she wanted to move away from him. And I'm an only child. So...What about you?"

"I have an older sister - Judith - and she's a bitch." Michael told you fiercely, his malicious tone of voice making you flinch. "My Mom has a boyfriend, but I can't stand that bastard."

"Oh...that sucks." You shyly replied, not knowing how to keep the conversation going.

"I also have a younger sister. Her name's Angel, but I call her "Boo"." He added affectionately, love filling his facial features while you both continued walking.

"That's adorable." Softly smiling, you praised his remark and obtained a cheeky grin from Michael - the blonde boy liking your reply.

"I have a photo of her. Do you wanna see?" He offered with a happy expression, acting as though he really wanted to show you.

"Sure! I bet she's really cute." Dipping your head as a nod, you watched whilst Michael unzipped his backpack and pulled a photo out of a pocket - holding it up a second later.
