"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.

3. Through the promised Savior, how did God show His love toward us?

"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being justified by his blood, we will be saved from God's wrath through him." Romans 5:8, 9.

4. What is the condition of all mankind?

"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God... Romans 3:23.

"There is no one righteous; no, not one. There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God. They have all turned away.... There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one" Romans 3:10-12.

5. Can man free himself from the dominion of sin?

"Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil" Jeremiah 13:23.

6. Why did Christ come into the world?

"The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..." 1 Timothy 1:15.

7. Is there salvation apart from Jesus?

None. "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12.

8. How are we reconciled to God?

"But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses..." 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19.

9. What did Christ do for our behalf?

10. To what extent has Jesus suffered for sinners?

"Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:4-6.

11. How dependent are we upon Jesus for salvation?

"I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5.

12. After a person truly receives Christ in his life, whose life will be manifested in him?

"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me" Galatians 2:20.

13. How complete was Christ's victory over death?

"When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, 'Don't be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades.'" Revelation 1:17, 18.

14. How complete is the salvation we obtained from Christ?

"Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25.
