1. What can we say about the justice of God for the righteous and the wicked?

"Most certainly there is a reward for the righteous. Most certainly there is a God who judges the earth." Psalm 58:11.

"Yahweh preserves all those who love him, but he will destroy all the wicked."Psalm 145:20.

2. What kind of punishment will the wick-ed suffer?

"But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." Revelation 21:8.

3. What is the second death?

"Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire." Revelation 20:14.

NOTE: In the King James Version, "hades" is translated as hell. So if hell, as most accept it, is a place where the lake of fire can be found, how could it be that the "hell" would be thrown into the lake of fire? In modern translations, "hades" is none other than the grave.

4. What will God rain upon the wicked?

"On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup." Psalm 11:6.

5. Where will the fire come from?

"They went up over the width of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God and devoured them." Revelation 20:9.

6. Is there a hellfire burning now?

None.

"For if God didn't spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to pits of darkness to be reserved for judgment .... the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment." 2 Peter 2:4,9.

7. When will this occur?

"And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison." Revelation 20:7.

8. What does God call the destruction of the wicked?

"These will go away into eternal punishment ...." Matthew 25:4,6.

9. How does God feel about the punishment of the wicked?

"I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die...." Ezekiel 33:11.

"For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies.... Therefore turn yourselves, and live!" Ezekiel 18:32.

10. For whom is the fire prepared?

"Then he will say also to those on the left hand,'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels." Matthew 25:41.

11. What is the fate of Satan and his followers?

"For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so will all the nations drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been." Obadiah 1:16.

"Behold, they are like stubble. The fire will burn them. They won't deliver themselves from the power of the flame. It won't be a coal to warm at or a fire to sit by." Isaiah 47:14

"Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may see you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the middle of you. It has devoured you. I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you." Ezekiel 28:17,18.

"The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Revelation 20:10.

13. How will the fire destroy the wicked? Will they burn through millions of years?

No. They will become ashes.

"For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall. You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make." Malachi 4:1-3.

14. Will the flames of hell consume this planet forever?

"The first things have passed away. He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.'" Revelation 21:4,5.

15. What is the ultimate fate of the earth?

"But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells." 2 Peter 3:13.

16. What does God need for a sinner to do?

"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9.

17. Where must our name be written to escape this eternal punishment?

"If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15.
