1. What hopeful promise did Jesus give?

"Don't let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father's house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also." John 14:1-3.

2. Why is Jesus coming?

"Christ ... having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation." Hebrews 9:28.

3. What does Paul call the second coming of Jesus?

"Looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13.

4. Have prophets predicted the second coming of Jesus throughout times?

"Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him." Psalm 50:3.

"About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying,'Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones.' "Jude 1:14.

5. How will the second coming of Jesus be?

"When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, 'You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.'" Acts 1:9-11.

6. How many will see Jesus at His second coming?

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him." Revelation 1:7.

"For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be." Matthew 24:27.

7. Will the second coming of Jesus be a secret, quiet event?

No.

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever." 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17.

8. Who will be with Jesus when He comes?

"For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds." Matthew 16:27.

"He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other." Matthew 24:31.

9. How majestic is the second coming of Jesus?

"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory." Matthew 24:30.

10. If someone tells you Jesus has already come or has come in secret, should you believe it?

"Then if any man tells you,'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'There,' don't believe it."Matthew 24:23.

11. What will happen to the bodies of the righteous when Jesus returns?

"Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality." 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself." Philippians 3:20, 21.

12. What will be the reaction of the lost?

"The sky was removed like a scroll when it is rolled up. Every mountain and island were moved out of their places. The kings of the earth, the princes, the commanding officers, the rich, the strong, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains. They told the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.'" Revelation 6:14-16.

13. What will be the reaction of the righteous?

"It shall be said in that day, 'Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!'" Isaiah 25:9.

14. What must we do to experience this ultimate salvation?

"...the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ-whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don't see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:7-9.

"I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown." Revelation 3:11.

"But he who endures to the end will be saved." Matthew 24: 13.

15. When is the right time to prepare for the coming of the Lord?

"Today if you will hear his voice, don't harden your hearts." Hebrews 4:7.
