1. What is Satan's teaching about death?

"The serpent said to the woman, 'You won't really die.'" Genesis 3:4.

2. What does the Scripture tell us about the devil?

"You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn't stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies." John 8:44.

3. Do the dead know anything?

"For the living know that they will die, but the dead don't know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten." Ecclesiastes 9:5.

"His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish." Psalm 146:4.

4. Do the dead have emotions even after they die?

"Also their love, their hatred, and their envy has perished long ago; neither do they any longer have a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun." Ecclesiastes 9:6.

5. When miracles are performed by spirits claiming to be our dead friends or loved ones, to what shall we attribute them?

"For they are spirits of demons, performing signs..." Revelation 16:14.

6. What will be one characteristic of endtime apostasies?

"But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons." 1 Timothy 4: 1.

7. Did the practice of talking to the dead exist in ancient times?

"Don't turn to those who are mediums, nor to the wizards. Don't seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Yahweh your God." Leviticus 19:31.

8. What does God say about the teachings of enchanters and sorcerers?

"But as for you, don't listen to your prophets, to your diviners, to your dreams, to your soothsayers, or to your sorcerers ... for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, so that I would drive you out, and you would perish." Jeremiah 27:9,10.

9. What should we do if someone asks us to inquire of a familiar spirit?

"When they tell you, 'Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter; shouldn't a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?" Isaiah 8:19.

10. What teaching does the apostle John give regarding this subject?

11. How do Satan and his servants deceive the people?

"And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness." 2 Corinthians 11:14,15.

12. Will Satan and his servants attempt to copy the coming of Christ?

"Then if any man tells you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'There,' don't believe it. For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones." Matthew 24:23, 24.

13. What will be one of the last great signs Satan will perform to effectively deceive human beings?

"He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived." Revelation 13:13,14.

"Even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn't receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." 2 Thessalonians 2:9,10.

14. While many will be deceived by Satan's schemes, what will those who have maintained their love for the truth and patiently waited for Christ's return, say?

"It shall be said in that day, 'Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!'" Isaiah 25:9.
