Paris turned up at the Gilmore and Beaufort residence. She was freaked out by her bad grade.

"So, given that those are the reactions occurring in the two half-cells, what do you do next?" Rory asked her.

"Well, if we add them together, doubling the coefficients of the silver half equation but not the voltage, we get the equation for the complete reaction." Paris explained.

"Well, you're in much better shape than you wanna think you are." Camille admitted.

"Impossible." Paris denied. "Where are you going?"

Camille got up because the doorbell had just rung.

"That's our food." She answered.

"Another half hour, please." Paris begged.

"no you got your hour now go." Rory told her.

"But-" Paris started.

"Go." Rory interrupted her.

"Fine." Paris huffed.

Camille opened the door to see Jess standing with a bag of food.

"delivery." Jess smiled.

"what are you doing here?" the blonde questioned her boyfriend.

"well, Luke figured since you and Rory are alone tonight that maybe you wouldn't have any food in the house, so he sent over a care package." he shrugged.

"thank God." Camille awed. "Rory ordered food from Sandeep's."

"really? is she planning on burning down the house afterwards?" Jess inquired.

"Jess." Camille raised her eyebrow at him.

"it's the only way to kill the smell." he replied. "where should I put this?"

"in the kitchen I suppose." she told him.

Camille held his hand as they walked through to the kitchen.

"hey Rory." Jess announced his presence.

"Oh, hi Jess." Rory greeted him.

"Jess brought us some food." Camille informed the girl.

"But I ordered Sandeep's." Rory complained. "God, how much food is in there? This could feed twelve."

"Excuse me, I've seen you two eat." Jess laughed.

"Fine, six." Rory rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, well, Luke wanted you two taken care of." Jess shrugged. "He wasn't sure how long your mom was gonna be gone for."

"Just tonight." Camille responded.

"Oh, he didn't know that." Jess mumbled.

"Well, now you can tell him." Rory muttered.

"I will." Jess nodded.

"How come Caesar didn't bring this over?" Rory questioned the boy.

"I volunteered." He answered.

"Why?" Rory asked.

"Just wanted to get out of the construction zone. There's nothing but banging and yelling. That place gives me a headache." Jess replied. "plus I wanted to see my girlfriend."

He placed an arm around Camille.

"I'm glad you came, not Caesar." Camille pressed a kiss to his lips. "you should stay, we have enough food."

"I thought we were going to have a quiet night." Rory jumped in before Jess said yes.

"we still can." Camille told her. "Jess will be part of it too. So do you wanna stay?"

"sure." Jess answered.
