"Look at this place, it's exactly the same." Mia looked around the diner.

"Actually, I made him paint it a few months ago." Lorelai  informed her.

"Well, good for you." Mia put her hand on Lorelai's arm.

Luke walked over and hugged Mia.

"Mia,hey." He greeted her.

"Nice to see you Lucas." She smiled.

"You're the only person in the world who can call me that, Mia." He told her.

"I know this." She nodded at him.

"I'm saying it for others who plan to try it later." He side-eyed Lorelai.

"Whatever Lucas." Lorelai stuck her tongue out at him.

They started talking some more until Jess came down.

"You're making that worse." He told his uncle.

"Big help, thanks." Luke's voice dripping in sarcasm

"Luke's nephew." Lorelai informed Mia.

"Luke, that's your nephew?" Mia asked.

"It's Liz's kid. Jess, this is Mia, she owns the Independence Inn." He introduced the two.

"Huh." Jess nodded.

"That's 'Hello, nice to meet you' in slacker." Luke joked.

"You don't need me down here, do you?" Jess questioned.

"I'm sorry Mia. He's just-." Luke started.

"Oh please, forget it. You weren't exactly a talkative boy yourself when you were his age." Mia interrupted.

"That's right, you knew Luke as a boy." Lorelai  sat forward in her seat.

"I can't imagine Luke as a boy." Rory sighed in disbelief.

"Can we change the subject?" Luke inquired

"He would help people carry groceries home." Mia reminisced

"Oh, how very Boy Scout-y of you." Camille commended him.

"For a quarter a bag." Mia added.

"Oh, how very John Birch Society-y of you." Lorelai commented.

"He was never without his skateboard for a time." Mia recapped. "And there was that year you wore the same shirt everywhere you went."

"I don't remember that." Luke denied.

"Must have been something flannel." Lorelai joked.

"No, it was from that TV show. That famous one." Mia tried to remember.

"It's not important." Luke tried to dismiss the conversation.

"Star Trek, that's it." Mia grinned.

Lorelai, Rory and Camille laughed.

"Oh my God, oh my God." Lorelai repeated.

"Stop it." Luke demanded her.

"You were a Trekkie?" Camille asked.

"I was not a Trekkie." Luke shook his head.

"Uh uh, I do believe that denying you were a Trekkie is a violation of the prime directive." Lorelai laughed.

"Indubitably captain." Rory commented.

"It was a gift from my aunt, I wore it to make her happy." Luke excused.
