chapter seven

Lorelai and Camille were sitting at the table doing their homework.

"I'm coming out." Rory announced.

"Out of what?" Lorelai questioned.

"Out into society." Rory added.

"What are you talking about?" Lorelai asked.

"I went to Grandma's after school." Rory explained.

"i'm going to see Dean." Camille told them as she got up from the table. "i'll be back before ten."

"Have a good time." Lorelai instructed her.

"I will." The blonde smiled.

She left the house and headed towards Doose's market. Dean would be coming off his shift in ten minutes so she would wait in Luke's until then. As she crossed the road she saw someone familiar.

"Dodger." She shouted out.

Jess turned his towards her.

"oh, it's you." he rolled his eyes.

Camille ran across the road.

"what's that supposed to mean?" she asked.

"oh nothing." he shut down the conversation. "have you seen my notes yet."

"umm no not yet." Camille mumbled.

"what are you doing out?" Jess questioned her.

"Dean's getting off work soon so i'm going to meet him." the blonde replied.

"oh right." Jess nodded.

"something gives me the impression that you don't like Dean." Camille assumed.

"well, i've met him in school and I wouldn't say he's my favourite person." Jess told her.

"you're not exactly friendly." Camille admitted. "you should try to make friends you know, it might make your time in Stars Hollow less.."

"torturous." the boy interrupted.

Camille playfully punched him on his arm.

"hey, this is my home your talking about." she laughed.

"i'm sorry that my review isn't what you want it to be." he joked.

"well, each to their own I suppose." Camille smiled.

Jess and Camille looked at each other for a few moments, not knowing what to do.

"I should get going, Dean's finishing soon." Camille mumbled.

"yeah, I need to get back to Luke's." Jess agreed for their departure.

Camille started walking before she tripped over a loose pavement. Jess reached out to catch her. His hands were around her waist and Camille's were on his shoulders.

"Mill." Someone called out.

Camille jumped away from Jess. Dean was leaving Doose's.

"I'll see you later Jess." She rushed before going to Dean.

Dean put his arms around Camille's waist and kissed her. Jess walked away.

"what were you two talking about?" Dean asked as he watched Jess walked off.

"Nothing, he was asking what I was doing here." She technically wasn't lying.

"Well if he's giving you any trouble, tell me alright." Dean offered.

"He's not going to give me trouble." Camille smiled.
