Kao and I borrowed a horse that we could use instead of flying. I didn't confess that I can't ride them because I will just be a hindrance for him again and it would be awkward if we ride it together also.

When I successfully climbed up a black horse, my body trembled in fear.

Now what am I gonna do?

I stole a glance from my brother and I observed how he could control the horse, he slightly kicked the side of it and the horse gently walked, I copied him and thank goodness, I'm still sitting on top of it as it walks calmly.

"I asked for a mare so it would be gentle, do you like her?"

"Y-Yes she's easy to handle..." I let out a nervous chuckle.

Damn. How long can I keep up this act? I'm scared when we need to run faster.

"Should we go? Just follow me and if we encounter a wild animal or demons, stay in your place. I'll go to you." that sounds reassuring, really.

So I should just act like a statue when something will attack us?

What am I?

A decoration???

But it's not like this is Kao's fault, it's on me that I'm weak and pathetic.

I can't blame no one for it other than myself.

Once this event is over, I'll definitely ask Kao to teach me seriously to defend myself. I can't always be a burden to someone.

"Let's get going. We only have two hours to hunt before the sunset." nodding, I copied whatever he did. I kicked the side of the horse and held the lead rope tightly.

Both of our horses only walked, it seems Kao sensed that I was still awkward riding a horse so we took our time looking for preys. We will only hunt one animal each and that's it. It would be disrespectful if we returned with nothing so Kao decided that after killing two animals, we will return for my safety.

Shortly after our ride, we spotted a wild boar. Kao quickly rushed to the animal while I followed him, but I noticed a black gliding lizard with reddish wings and red eyes behind me, I looked back at it then glanced at Kao who's busy running after the wild boar.

He's still near me so I grabbed the crossbow strapped from my back, this is what the stable keeper gave me when we borrowed the horses. He said this is better than swords if we will hunt and it's easy to use for a beginner like me. The kind man also loaded the crossbow before handing it to me, so if I missed the target I don't know how to load this again.

I better kill it in one try or the arrow will be wasted.

With a shaking hand, I closed my other eyes and I aimed at the gliding lizard. This weapon looks like a gun with a bow so it's really easy to use. When I felt like I could shoot the lizard that was resting on a branch, I squeezed the trigger and the arrow flew towards it.

As I predicted, I missed it. The startled lizard turned its head at me at the speed of light and I could feel he's mad. It started screaming and squeaking and I freaked out in response.

I tensely glanced back at Kao to ask for help but my nightmare came true. Kao was nowhere to be seen and that means I was left behind.

My eyes went back to the reptile and I saw it flying to my direction, unintentionally, because I was panicking and wanted to run away fast, I dropped the crossbow and pulled the lead rope too harshly, which made the horse raise her front legs forward in the air.

Thanks to my reflex of clinging around her neck, I saved myself from falling off but she started running wildly. Not gonna lie, I'm not a religious person yet I called all the deities for help.
