Spring.

The first rays of sunlight lit up the husbands' room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in as the rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene.

The two are cuddled up together without their tops on, sleeping soundly until Kaiser got up first.

Unlike a hundred years ago, his face was full of wrinkles. He has the face of a forty years old human and wasn't that young anymore.

He rubbed his bleary eyes and walked to the window to open the curtains fully. There was a pearly glow in the sky and he thought the weather was great today for the Princess' event which she'll attend later.

During their married life, Kaiser learned how to cook while his husband Suppasit was the one who usually clean their cozy house in the Arzonia which is now established as a town.

The neighboring land next to it also became habitable by all races after many decades of reconstructing.

In the kitchen, Kaiser cooks for their breakfast with his apron on.

He flipped the egg on the pan which he always failed to do perfectly but unlike any other days, today it was perfect.

He became happier and transferred the egg on top of the bread to make sandwiches.

As he made it, a pair of arms slithered around his thin and cold waist.

It was Suppasit's.

The man snuggled into his Kaiser's neck and groaned.

"Why are you up so early?"

He whispered, still sleepy.

"Did you forget? You're going back to the palace to be Lillian's partner at her ball."

Their niece is picky in terms of men that until now, no one has stolen the Princess' heart and it was always Suppasit who became her partner whenever she attended balls.

"Can I not go?"

Suppasit whined and shakes Kaiser's body while still hugging him.

"You can't. You should protect the Princess, there's a lot of rumors flying around that they saw a demon lurking around the empire."

"Demon? What kind of bullshit is that?"

He scoffs, unwilling to believe the rumors that make the townspeople scared to go out.

Some say it was just propaganda to make the Emperor look untrustworthy or that the imperial family lied that the demons are all extinct.

But those deceitful people were only those who weren't alive during that dark era. They spread lies to start commotions however the emperor didn't give them the attention they wanted.

"Come on, take a bath, I already prepared your clothes that you'll wear."

"No. Let's shower together.."

Kaiser jokingly slapped Suppasit's hands.

"I can't. I'll have to do the laundry once you leave. I'll take a bath after that."

He felt his husband pout on his neck and he let out a chuckle.

How cute.

"Why can't we just hire maids? Aren't you tired doing all the chores at home?"

"No? You help me and it's fun doing it together with you. Don't you feel the same way?"

"Of course I do! I love doing chores with you too!"
