Chapter 20 The Return

"You're not leaving?" Alexander asks Rina when the twins got out of the carriage.

"I'll wait for the three of you because I know the guard will not let you enter the palace."

"What? Why would they?"

"Same reason why you can't pass through the border? It's not possible for a commoner to meet her highness inside the palace. You should know that, you've been a noble since you were born, my lord."

Alexander kept on forgetting that he's not the captain of royal knights anymore. He stood there staring down at the ground for a short while to process all the hindrances they faced. He did not expect that it would be this hard to introduce the twins to the aristocracy. He thought it would be easy as long as they arrived in the Kingdom.

"M-May I ask for your help once again?" Alexander raised his head to meet Rina's eyes, despite being embarrassed of all the disturbance they caused for her today, he let go of his pride to ask for another favor to which the woman smiled weakly.

"If you'll ask for my help to get in using my name, I cannot do that. I don't have the power to meet her highness, maybe you could ask Marquis Anastasius instead? I believe your father and brother are close to the Empress these days." The three stiffened upon hearing those familiar names.

The names who killed the woman they love the most.

Suppasit clenches his fist and so is Alexander who is gritting his teeth. He gave out a loud sigh while ruffling his hair in annoyance. It never once crossed his mind that he would need his father's help. But after thinking they will eventually meet, avoiding him isn't that necessary for their plan.

"Okay, let's go to the Wistal's residence."

"What brings you here Alexander? And who are those kids?" Anastasius stood up from the chair, they're inside the Marquis' office with Rina tailing them from behind.

"Mine."

Alexander boldly lied that the twins were his. Thanks to Rina, he knew Anastasius is close to Alice, he presumes that the Empress will have to step down once the Emperor faction found out that they have heirs so if he says that they are the late Empress' children his father wouldn't allow them to meet.

"If that's so, where is that woman?" Alexander attempted to read the Marquis' mind but same with Rina, he couldn't. He furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes wandered on his father's gray suit. He also noticed the sapphire mana stone used as cufflinks.

So that's why he had the audacity to ask such a shameless question, he knew I would not be able to read his thoughts.

"Unfortunately she died....at the hands of demons lurking in the forest." If only the  Marquis could read his mind too, that man would have been shivering from fear. Alexander's whole body is itching to cut Anastasius into pieces, he's cursing him non-stop in his head while Suppasit was hiding his rage. His sharp nails are painfully digging his palms as he clenches his hand into fist. The raging child has all the power to set his body on fire in a snap, or let a thunder strike him. There are a lot of ways to kill Anastasius but his regeneration is the problem.

No matter how many times they try to kill him, his body will regenerate and all his power will be put in a waste.

"That's sad to hear, is that why you visited us again? Do you want your title back? Same with your kids?" The man asks with a smug look on his face. He's aware that he has the advantage over Alexander, and he is more powerful than him in terms of their ranks.
