At the church, where the emperor and Kana held their wedding, the servants are busy and hectic to finish all the preparation for Kana's funeral.

Alexander left the palace after Kana was announced dead and when he came back, he brought a mana stone that contains a barrier to preserve someone's body. It has healing magic too so the corpse won't decay easily.

It wasn't cheap, in fact he spent their household's budget for the next 50 years to acquire that mana stone and be delivered within thirty minutes.

After the long hours of arranging the funeral, it's been exactly four hours since Kana died.

Only his closest acquaintance and immediate family were formally invited to his funeral today.

They all got in the palace before the sun set.

They walked down the aisle one by one and it wasn't long before the prayers and ritual started.

One of the few invited people were the werewolves he saved, Lucy, Elijah, Eve, Mew, Lily, Gerty, Alexander, Obi with other members of Kana's troop, the four knights Kao, Great and Apo who is riding a wheelchair with his head bandaged up.

The church wasn't lit that bright, there were only candles and the chandler with dim lights.

Everyone was wearing black.

It was still surreal for them that the person who saved them was now lying in a narrow box full of flowers such as red spider lilies.

During the ritual, lightning flashed across the freezing sky, brightening the room out of its darkness for only a single moment. The rain pounded on, jolting the windows that thudded against each drop.

On Mew and Kana's wedding day, it was also raining and it's all due to Suppasit's emotions. Although Suppasit's abilities are restrained, his attribute for having a werewolf's royal blood, made the weather be affected based on his emotions. It's the attribute that he inherited from his father that cannot be sealed by the chain.

When the ritual was done, each one of them was given time to go up to the altar and see Kana for the last time.

Kao left his seat after his turn and got out of the church, he went up to Suppasit's room and found the knight staring blankly at the window with his hands chained up to his back and feet shackled, sitting on the foot of his bed.

Despite sleeping for five hours, his under eyes were dark with tears streaming down his face.

It looked like he's in a vegetative state, he doesn't respond to Kao's call and he doesn't flinch with the thunder claps. He was just sitting there, showing no signs of awareness of his surroundings.

"Kaiser is having his funeral right now."

This time, Suppasit's eyes moved in his direction without moving his body.

"I'm talking to you not as your friend and comrade but as Kaiser's brother and family. I hope that if I let you see him tonight, you won't cause disturbance in his final moments. I want you to respect us as his family and see him without hurting anyone in the church. At least, just for today."

Suppasit's tears raced down even more and he weakly nodded in submission.

Kao unlocked the shackles on his feet only and he grabbed his arm to lead him to the church.

A loud creak ran throughout the room as the door opened, everyone watched the two walk down the aisle and Kao let Suppasit sit first since his father Alexander was still having his moment with Kana.

When they sat down, there were hands reaching for hugs or hands patting him and Kao on the shoulder. So many hands. He couldn't tell who they belonged to as he cried at the sight of Kana. They whispered as their hands touched them.
