Trigger Warning: Blood, Gore, Fire
"Your highness! The werewolves! The undead werewolves all died!" The messenger busted in the office and Mew sprang up from his seat, ecstatic by his news.
Kaiser, Kaiser succeeded?!
Smile formed into his lips not knowing that the reason why the undead died was because of Hugo and at the moment everyone celebrated, he rushed back to Lily's chamber and he froze upon opening the door.
At the large window of the room, Lily is sitting on a spacious window seat, cradling the lifeless body of Hugo, humming with her swollen and red eyes looking out the smokey sky.
Mew's heart sank. He could only look at Lily's, who's greatly cast down by Hugo's demise. The lady hums sadly, as if he's putting Hugo to sleep, eyes blankly staring outside.
"Lily..." Mew called out for her but the lady didn't respond, her mind is somewhere else, perhaps reminiscing her days with Hugo. Mew slowly approached her and wiped the blood stain of her jaw with his thumb but still Lily didn't react to his touch.
"It's okay...everything's going to be fine. Hugo had his best life in the palace while he's with you so don't be so hard on yourself."
Mew chewed his lips and gently held Lily's head to lean on his chest. A tear tickled his cheek, he wasn't aware he was crying too when he saw Lily's lip trembled as she wept. For an hour, the two comforted each other in silence, Mew didn't ask her what happened to them and just stroked Lily's head while the lady grieved. No words could comfort Lily and he knows that that's why he stayed with her and let his presence comfort her instead.
Their solemn moment soon interrupted by his messenger, the man knocked in a haste and told him bad news this time.
"Your highness, I want to inform you that Sir Apo came back alone, he was seen outside the castle gate in a critical condition, the back of his head was bleeding and the imperial physician had already tended him, Kao had also helped him heal and let him drink Lord Kaiser's pill. For now, he's stable but he still hasn't regained his consciousness but before he fainted, the knight that found him said Sir Apo was mouthing Lord Kaiser is in danger and kept repeating the word chainsaw and Lord Supassit....Lord Suppasit is missing with Sir Kao."
What the emperor feared the most had finally come.
Mew glances at Lily who had fallen asleep from crying non-stop, he gently carries her with Hugo still on top of her and transfers them on the bed. He tucked them in and asked the messenger to call for Gerty.
"Prepare a coffin for the child too." he added.

Earlier.
When the knights were busy slaying the undead werewolves, all of them suddenly dropped dead on the ground. Everyone was perplexed with their sudden death but they immediately celebrated after realizing that the necromancer had been defeated already.
The joyous scream, whistling and howling, each one of them showed their own way of celebration while Suppasit sat on the ground, sweating from using his ability too much.
He still can't celebrate because he needs to freeze the infected knights as well as the commoners to prevent the disease from spreading more. Vampires with the same ability as him also helped and went to the cities with a lot of casualties. He resumed doing his job before he goes back to the palace. He is excited to see Kana again because he had a lot of things he wanted to say to him.
Previously at the room when Kana was drinking his blood, he told him that he got his memories back, Kana was surprise to hear that but he wasn't able to react much because he was thirsty, he only listened to Suppasit while the knight told him what he felt that night when he heard the news that he was dead. Suppasit didn't carry on to say everything to him, since Kana may not remember what he said since he's lightheaded.
