Chapter 5 Sacred Virgin Fruit

"Prophecy? What's it all about?"

Kana asked, clueless before putting down the fork on his plate. The emperor immediately threatened Kao to shut his mouth by telepathy if ever he would as answer him.

"It doesn't concern you." It was a rude way to say but the Emperor had no option but to be stern so he would not ask anymore.

The human then bit his lips and put his head down in embarrassment. He just realized that they were talking about something important and it was discourteous to interrupt their conversation.

"And also, King Claude asks for your presence. He's currently in the guest room waiting for you to accept his request." Suppasit added upon sensing the uncomfortable atmosphere.

"What does he want? I told the guards I won't be accepting any audience for today aren't I?" he scowled which Suppasit replied sarcastically.

"How would I know? Just meet him if you're that curious." Glaring, Kana wonders why the Emperor does not get offended by his knight's rudeness. Even if they are brothers, it's not an excuse to be an asshole when the emperor is the ruler of all.

"Tell him I'll be in the audience room in a few minutes, since Apo will be going with me, Kao will guard the sacrifice with Great and you Suppasit will ask the royal guards to tighten the security and patrol the vicinity."

Kana taps the table with his fingers, restless.

It's much more suffocating that they are guarding me inside this room. Do I look like I'll try to escape? I already told them I won't.

"Uhm, Sir Kao I want to take a b-bath, can I...can I go to my room n-now?" Kana politely asked, stammering.

"You can take a bath here Miss."

"Bro, she's a woman, she'll be shy because the bathroom smells like the emperor." Great teased after pulling Kao's shoulder as he shakes his head.

"Huh? That's not it and I'm not a pervert." Kana exhales in frustration but the two didn't pay attention to him.

"Hmmm, really? Okay. Let's transfer her to her own room." After reconsidering, the two escorted Kana back to his chamber and guarded her from outside. Once Kana got in, he saw how messy the room was as if someone intruded.

What happened here?

Why is the window not shut? I'm positive it was closed when I left.

He cautiously stepped back, heart racing in fear. He got a bad feeling so he briskly turned around to go out again.

"Hmmm!" but just when he was about to grab the door knob, a hand with a handkerchief covered his mouth and nose causing him to get dizzy and unable to breathe.

"Lady Lily?"

"Sir Great, have you seen the Emperor?"

"He's speaking with King Claude."

"Ah..is that so?"

"Aren't you banned from stepping a foot in the east wing."

"Eh? Was I? I'm quite forgetful, please forgive me."

Kana heard the voices from outside as he was forcefully being dragged to the balcony by two unidentified men.

He helplessly screamed Kao's name in his mind, hoping he could hear him until he passed out but since Kao is distracted with Lily's sudden appearance and he knew Kana was taking a bath, he gave him privacy and filtered the thoughts he could hear from him—a wrong decision he made that put the person he was guarding in danger.
