Chapter 59 Union

It felt like it was only yesterday when Suppasit told me our wedding ceremony will happen in a month.

Time sure flies a bit quicker once we become a couple and here we are, standing behind the closed door of the church. Contrast to the 'normal' wedding, no one is waiting at the altar and we are both going to enter separately with our family.

He'll be entering first with Mew because Suppasit is an orphan while I'll be entering with my father.

We could hear the music playing loudly, a sign that the ceremony is starting after hours of preparation since dawn.

"I'll be seeing you in a minute. Be careful walking, you might trip." Suppasit kissed the back of my hand, he's standing ahead of me.

I stared at him for a second to appreciate his look for today.

He got his hair cut short upto his shoulder, if I remember correctly it's called a wolf cut? He looks more intimidating than before when we had the same length of hair, but he looks neater and refreshing with how he is now.

While me? I didn't cut mine, my father wouldn't let me, I think he likes how I look because I resemble my mother a lot and I didn't judge him because of that. I too like the way I look and to add, Suppasit has a habit of braiding my hair when he's bored and I find it adorable.

"You're always ignoring me huh?" he pouts because I didn't gave him a reply. My bad, I was too immersed in thought of him.

"Sorry. What did you say? I didn't hear you because your face is distracting me.." I apologized and squeezed his hand. My father was watching us with Mew and I could imagine them rolling their eyes.

"I said be careful later. Don't trip." Suppasit repeated and my father suddenly grabbed my waist to separate us.

"Excuse me? Do I look like I'll let my dear son trip?"

The two got into a heated battle of glares. This is a normal occurrence already between them. They like to get on each other's nerves when I'm with them.

Quite problematic and draining but I think that is what makes them closer. That's just the way they show their affection. I think?

At this moment, it's only me and the emperor who are quiet and chill, and are always acting as a referee when things get out of hand.

Like now.

"Can you two stop fighting just for today? The ceremony is starting, Suppasit line up properly and Commander, and is currently a King, please keep your composure at all times. A lot of people are watching today."

Mew scolded the two, and just like what he said, a lot will be watching the ceremony.

There are mages present with us as they'll be broadcasting the wedding across the empire. Why? So everyone will not discriminate same sex couples and the new law about same sex marriage.

This wedding is gonna be historic and will be written in the books. And I'm certain no one will take risks to talk shits about us, seeing as we'll be entering the church with the current emperor and the king.

Insulting us means they are insulting the royals too which is punishable by law. But I hope that even if they see other couples like us in the future, even if they are royals or not, I hope they won't be discriminated against and frowned upon.

After all, all we want for our people is to be treated fairly, despite our differences in races and sexuality.

It's truly a new era for the empire and I hope it will stay that way after the reign of Mew and my father.
