Chapter 58 Sulky

Kana/Kaiser's PoV

"How about this one? This is much better than the black lampshade." 

We are lying on our stomachs and facing the foot of the bed with the catalogue in front of us. Right after I brought up that I want to visit a shop in the capital again to buy the things we can decorate our new house with during lunch, he asked the butler to get all the catalogues of the famous furniture shops within the day.

Suppasit points out another image in the catalogue and then glances at me with his eyes twinkling, anticipating my reply. It's past eleven o'clock in the evening and we're still awake.

I said to him that we can see them tomorrow but he wants us to choose tonight so tomorrow, I won't be tired walking around.

"What is it? You don't like them?" I could vision Suppasit imaginary wolf ears droop that's why I chuckled.

"No. I like it, do you like the white one?" I asked back and he nodded.

"Okay, let's see that tomorrow. So how about we sleep now? Let's look at the catalogue on our way to the capital, it's almost midnight." I forced a smile because I know if I don't push him to sleep, we'll be up until dawn. And good thing, he seems to be worried about me.

"You're sleepy?" with his thumb, he touches my cheeks to see if I have dark circles. Truth to be told, I'm not sleepy but rather my eyes are tired yet I told him I was.

"Sorry, you should have told me earlier."

As if I could? You were thrilled when we got the catalogues.

Putting that aside, I gave him a reassuring smile, it's genuine now because I felt bad that he's the only one excited to check out the furniture when I'm the one who asked to buy them.

It's just that I was expecting we'll do it tomorrow and not tonight. I was only hoping we'll have another date and walk aimlessly, spending more time together, but if we already know what we will buy, we'll have less time to be together! Isn't it?

"Hey? Are you okay? Are you half-sleep? You're not blinking!"

Suppasit shook my shoulder dramatically and I slapped his hand, laughing.

Did I spaced out for too long?

"Quit it! I'm wide awake. Let's go to sleep."

The two of us lied down properly and Suppasit pulled up the blanket to cover our body. He stared at me while patting my chest and I stared at him too with my hand, caressing his face.

"Are you that excited to live with me?" I asked out of the blue which Suppasit answered straight away.

"Of course! Why are you even asking me that? I can't wait to leave the palace and be unemployed."

I laughed again and smacked his cheek, just lightly.

"Don't joke around. You can't be unemployed. You better continue to be a knight."

"No way, I don't want to work and come home late at night, and I'll probably be deployed to the South once I return to work. I'll die if we get apart. Aren't you too?"

Suppasit has been mentioning him dying without me constantly, that I don't know whether he's kidding or not. But he's prolly being dramatic again.

"No you can't sir. You need a job and money. And I'll be studying medicine too so I'll get busy, I won't be with you all the time."

Looks like Suppasit was shocked by what I said because his smile dropped in a matter of seconds.

Silly me, I completely forgot to tell him about my plans once we got married.
