Isekai Losers!

Chapte 23: The Losers return!

Several days pass after the skyborn left for their allegedly peaceful mission. Rumours about their disappearance and even death began to spread among locals. Still, the town continued functioning like nothing happened as there were countless new adventurers who kept slaying goblins, keeping the area safe in their thirst for easy money.

Around noon, a guard at the town entrance notices several figures in the distance approaching Lyugo. After carefully observing them, he hastily rushes into the town through the open gates.

"Boss! You have to see this!" The guard shouts.

Immediately after, Goldegar comes out of nowhere, approaching the noisy guard.

"SEE WHAT, ALFRED?" Goldegar's intimidatingly loud voice fills the area.

"Those people!" With his spear, the guard points at a group of four adventurers in the distance approaching the town.

"Could they be...?" The guard mumbles.

Goldegar narrows his eyes. "Huh...I NEED MORE FOCUS TO DETERMINE WHO THEY ARE. I SHALL USE MY HAWKEYE TO GET A BETTER LOOK." He exclaims.

"Sir!" The guard nods dutifully.

Goldegar covers his right eye with his hand while widening his left eye.

"HAGH!" He shouts dramatically as he leans forward, focusing on the people in the distance with his left eye. After a couple of seconds, Goldegar removes the hand from his eye, clearing his throat.

"I SEE. THOSE ARE INDEED HUMAN ADVENTURERS." He states.

"Sir!" The guard nods dutifully.

A while later Ivan, Lynn, Gabriel and Lan reach the gates where Goldegar and a couple of guards wait.

"BY THE GODS! THE SKYBORN HAVE RETURNED!" Goldegar shouts excitedly, raising his arms.

"We're back." Gabriel says casually.

"And we found some magic mushrooms." Lynn states as Lan raises the mushroom-filled bag, smiling proudly.

"OH? YOU SUCCEEDED IN YOUR QUEST OF OBTAINING THE LEGENDARY GLOWING ANGEL MUSHROOMS? THERE WAS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT YOU WOULD!" Goldegar states joyfully. 

"You know it." Ivan smiles. "Now, we should probably go and deliver these."

"OF COURSE." Goldegar turns to one of the guards. "ALFRED!"

"Sir!" The guard jumps up.

"ALERT MASTER PENTA OF THE SKYBORN'S ARRIVAL." Goldegar demans.

"Sir!" The guard nods before rushing into the town."

Goldgegar sighs as he turns back to te adventurers with a wide grin. "I MUST ADMIT THAT I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT THY EPIC QUEST OVER A COLD BEVERAGE DOWN AT THE INN."

"Don't worry, you'll hear all about it." Says Gabriel.

"Maybe more than you can handle." Ivan adds before turning to the town "See you later."

"Bye, Goldegar sir!" Lan bows politely before rushing to her group which was already leaving.

"TAKE CARE, YOUNG HEROES!" He waves after them.

As they walk through the busy streets, they notice a lot of whispering and chatting behind their backs. They look around, well aware that the chatting was about them. Though they don't pay much attention to it. The party heads straight to the alchemist to deliver the mushrooms.
