When the room door burst open while the King was studying some paperwork, he turned around furious by the disturbance, ready to scold, but his expression softened when he saw it was his youngest son coming for a visit.

"What are you doing here, Seokjin? Did you come to see your old man?"

Jin grinned as he turned around and stuck his tongue out at the guards, who gave him a hard time before letting him unlock the door.

When the guards saw the King, they bent their heads and gently closed the door.

"I wanted to visit you, but they tried to convince me you were occupied and made it impossible for me to get in."

The King frowned, not liking what he heard, "I am never too busy to see you; they know this."

"I know! I also informed them that they needed to be trained or fired since they made me feel attacked."

"I'm sure the guards didn't attack you," the King chuckled, "but I'll have Taehyung give them a talking to. So, what exactly is going on here? What brings you to see me today? We were supposed to meet tomorrow."

"Dad, there is something I truly want," Jin says as he approaches his father and passes him on his way to the throne.

"Seokjin, there is nothing in the world I wouldn't give you, right?" the King sighed hard, knowing what his son was about to ask.

"I know!" Jin said with a grin on his lips. That's why you are the best dad."

"Good, I'm happy. However, as much as I would wish for you to take over the kingdom after I pass away, you know it is impossible since the crown must pass to your brother by law. Unless your brother chooses not to take on the duty, maybe we can speak with him and-"

"Wait, hang on, I'm not interested in the throne; it's too much work!"

"You don't want to be king?" the King said, shocked since he had nearly expected his youngest to want to be King one day.

"As comfy as this is, I do not want it," Jin said, relaxing in his seat. "Namjoon would be better off here anyhow; he enjoys getting up early and working, but I don't."

"So, what are you looking for?"

"Dad, I'm growing old, and I'd like to get married. That's what I'm looking for: someone to look after me and protect me."

"You are not old; who told you that?" The King was surprised for the second time by his son's statements.

"No one," he says, "but I still want to marry an Alpha."

"Okay, we can make it happen, but I never imagined you'd be ready so soon," the King said as he stepped closer to his son, gazing at him since he could see he was serious about what he was asking and wanted to pay attention to him. "Prince L-"

"I'm not fond of him. Also, I want to choose my Alpha; I don't want any suggestions from you or my mother."

"You want to pick your Alpha?" the King asked his son, his eyes wide. Seokjin-"

"Yes, that's accurate; do you have any objections to my doing so? I hope not since I've been thinking about it a lot, and that's exactly what I want."

"Son, as an Omega, it's preferable if an Alpha picks you," the King said, taking a deep breath.

"However, isn't that nonsense? Why can't I choose my Alpha? Are you telling me I won't be able to accomplish it, dad?" Jin inquired, his father looking as though he was about to cry.

"No, no, that's not what I'm saying, Of course not; I believe you have the ability to pick your Alpha; nevertheless, I would want you to think about it before making a decision, as I want to ensure that you end up with someone who will properly care for you. It's not easy to reverse after you've been mated, and it's not as straightforward as you may think. Once you've been mated, becoming an Omega means you'll be subjecting yourself to an Alpha. You should also discuss this with your brother Jimin."
