Truth be told Gakushū wasn't angry at Karma at all. Sure he was a little hurt, and yes he's confused and he still wants answers from the red head

But he realized that he shouldn't have cornered Karma like that at all. Cornering the red head made him build his guard up and grow defensive. But, Gakushū didn't understand why Karma would be guarded around him, his own boyfriend.

He just ruined what could have been a good date with Karma all because of his growing need for answers!

"I'm so stupid" he groaned, rubbing his face with his hands.

He'll buy Karma a bouquet of white roses and appease to him later.

For now he'll give Karma some alone time to calm himself down.

Besides he himself could also use some time alone, away from his lover. But just for an hour, and then he'll go out and look for Karma.

Karma leaned against the rail of the bridge and looked down at the pristine water below. He saw some couples on boats and rowing across the river and couldn't help but chuckle.

He remembered his first boat ride with Gakushū many years ago.

He smiled when he remembered the cringey lines they exchanged with each other and laughed when he remembered how Gakushū dropped the oars and got them stranded in the middle of the lake

He covered his mouth to muffle his laughter when he remembered how he and Gakushū blamed each other

And then Gakushū screamed that he distracted him because he looked attractive sitting across from him.

Or something like that, he couldn't really remember the exact words.

And then the idiot started panicking and jumped into the water, causing the boat to tip over and then, splash

Karma fell into the water too

He snickered at the memory.

He looked at his watch. He still has twenty minutes before his next injection.

He'll explore around a bit so that when he returns to Gakushū and apologize for his outburst earlier,  he can give him the roses and show him around the city.

They can fix their date.

He did promise himself that he's finally going to tell Gakushū everything

But he decided to reschedule his 'confession' for tomorrow instead. On day 19

Besides, it's just them together, on this getaway trip. Away from nosy friends and worried parents

Away from his shitty father and his new wife and daughter. Karma's half sister, what was her name again? Chiyo?

Karma frowned, and shook his head to clear his thoughts of the little girl.

So the kid is sick, what then? Everybody in this world is sick! Karma is sick too, he has his own illness to worry about.

This sudden trip to Italy wasn't just a vacation for him and Gakushū

It was also an escape from Kagami, Layla, and Chiyo

Just thinking about them made Karma bristle with anger.

"I'm sick, I'm suffering too, fucking Kagami, how dare you show up after all these years with your new woman and outsider child? Why would you spring this up on me damn it" Karma's vision was blurring, so he took out a pill bottle from his pocket and popped one pill into his mouth

He swallowed it without the need to drink water.

Soon, his breathing evened again, and the pain coming from all parts of his body slowly faded.

Slowly.

"Maybe it wouldn't kill me if I injected myself a little early" he told himself, already reaching for the syringe in his pocket.

But he stopped.

"Nah, I better follow doc's orders"

He saw a souvenir shop, and thought to buy his boyfriend a teddy bear that was hugging a heart that has "I ❤️ Italy" written on it.
