Callan Anders POV
It's Saturday, which means I have to go to the baseball center. It's my favourite sport. Before my grandfather died, him and I would go there frequently so I decided to keep that tradition going, it holds a special place in my heart. Maybe someday, I will have a son to join me.
My father would have taken that spot but he is a busy person and even if he were to be free, he wouldn't spend that free time on baseball. He is more of a golf person.
After eating my breakfast, I gulp in orange juice before I head out. I get into my car and drive off towards my destination. I notice a car a distance behind me that has been driving in the same direction as I have been for the past 20 minutes. I ignore it and turn into the baseball centre.
I get out and put my cap on as I converse with Andreas, who is in a pink T-shirt and a white cap.
"Callan my boy, you don't look too well these days, has Valencia taken care of your blue balls?" He chuckles.
"You should be worried about your own relationship with Olivia," I retort. Andrea and his girlfriend are constantly on and off. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to still be together after all the toxicity.
"Aww, did I hit a nerve". He lightly punches my shoulder. "Anyway, what's the plan for today".
"I was thinking of hitting the field and playing some baseball," I say to him as we make our way to the other side.
"You know what, that's a good idea. You need to get those muscles moving". He grips my upper forearm. "Feels like a fucking grape fruit".
Upon arriving on the field, I inspect the baseball bats. Which one will do me justice today? I look up at the bar lounge in the distance and I see the girl who was in my room last night. What the fuck is she doing here?
I change into the baseball attire and take position on the field before the game begins.
For the following 2 weeks, since I only come here on Saturdays, I've seen the girl twice more. That's suspicious. Why the hell is she everywhere I'm at?
One Sunday, I decide to take an early morning jog. I would have used the treadmill but I prefer to catch some air instead. I don't usually go outside my gate without my car so this is one of those special moments.
I take in the surrounding as the fresh morning air hits my face. I feel as though I'm being watched so I come to a halt. I look around and espy bushy hair by the wall in a distance. It must be her.
I have a plan. I need to confront that bitch right here, right now. I swear, if this has something to do with business rivals trying to sabotage me, I'll first strangle her and then whoever sent her.
I make a turn at a corner and then stop. I know she is going to follow me so I wait. I hear the sound of her footsteps coming closer and then I step out grabbing her wrist so she doesn't escape.
"Who the fuck are you and why the hell do you keep following me!?" I yell before I continue, "You came to my house, I see you at the baseball center and now you're here. That's not a coincidence. Who sent you? Are you an espionage agent sent by a secret organization? You better start speaking bitch before I call the cops". I take out my phone from my pocket ready to dial the number but she stops me.
"No. I'll explain. I'm not an espionage agent or anything like that. I just follow you because I like you," she confesses.
My grip on her wrist loosens. What type of absurdity is this. Am I hearing right? I will have to end this delusional fantasy she's living in once and for all.
"If this is some little girl crush, I am not interested". I let go of her wrist and admonish her, "this should be the last time I fucking see you or else I'll call the cops".
I leave without witnessing her reaction. I know what I said was a little harsh but that should have done it. I still don't feel safe, what if she was lying? I will have to file a restraining order against her.
After the long jog, I get back home and contact my lawyer Kevin and give him knowledge about my thoughts.
He comes to my house the following day and we both take a seat on the patio.
He enlightens, "I have already spoken with the Constabulary. You will have to come forward and make your statement. Paperwork will be done by the end of the week subsequently approval. I looked into the guests that attended the event and did a background check on her. The girl in question is Kashmere Lynn".
