Kashmere Lynn's POV

3 months later, Bella and I grew familiar with each other. I introduced her to Cara and now I'm proud to announce that Cara, Bella and I have been a trio of best friends.

After the long lecture comes to an end, I walk out the lecture Hall. Immediately, I am met with Cara and Bella.

"My lecturer is a complete asshat. Im fully convinced he has a crush on me," Bella says.

I giggle behind my palm.

"70 year old Mr Rogue? Yeah no," Cara comments.

"You'd be surprised to find out what goes on in older men's minds," Bella responds.

We both head up to the spot we all had agreed to meet up at earlier. We take a seat on a picnic table below a red maple tree. We then take several selfies and post them on Instagram.

After the long afternoon, I'm sitted on my bed in me and Cara's dorm. Cara, with reading glasses on is busy working on her assignment at her study table. I, on the other hand have my attention grabbed by something on my phone screen. Callan's Instagram. He probably unblocked me a while back but I didn't bother to check until now because I tried so hard to convince myself that I did not care about Callan anymore. But im here, stalking him again. I guess old habits never die.

I scroll through his recent pictures he took at what appears to be a wedding. He stands next to the bride groom with that same beauteous smile I fell in love with when I first saw him. He is so happy as if nothing were wrong. I scroll further and there are more photos of Valencia where she's being captured without her knowledge.

A tear drops from my eyes but I continue scrolling. The next picture is where Callan adjusts Valencia's neck chain.

"I'm in love with you," he said. If he was really in love with me, he wouldn't be around Valencia like this. Fuck. Am I just toxic? Christ, maybe I am. I literally rejected him and still feel the need that he should still be attached to me.

I bury my head in my palms. That action may have grabbed Cara's attention because she ask's me, "Kashmere, are you okay?".

I look up and she notices my watery eye's.

"Are you crying?" She questions before sauntering towards me and taking a seat on my bed.

"No," I respond as I wipe away my tears. "Dust has gotten into my eyes".

"What are you talking about Kash? We always deep clean this room every weekend. Where could the dust have come from?" She questions in befuddlement.

Fair point.

She continues, "Kash, I know something is hurting you. You may have only known me for a few months now, but I can assure you can trust me. Talk to me".

If Giselle were here, she would have said "it's because of that phone Kash. I alway's tell you it will be the reason for your downfall". The thought almost makes me laugh.

"It's nothing. Really," I lie.

"Okay," she says before getting back to her study table.

After a few minutes of silence, she ask's "Have you ever had a boyfriend?"

I look up at her in perplexion at the sudden random question. She stares back at me with the end of her pen held against her lip.

"No," I answer.

I thought I did though.

"Same," she responds.

"But I had somebody," I say.

"Ooh". She leans forward. "This is interesting. I don't see you ever being in love. I mean, a few weeks ago you mentioned how you have absolutely no interest in men".

"Yea but I wasn't like that before," I say

"What was his name?" she ask's.

"Callan," I answer.

"Where did you meet him?" She questions in excitement.

"Relax. Can you let me explain," I giggle even though speaking about the past hurts me.

"Alright," she says.

"Okay so, I met him at a party. Not really a party but something like that. I never really got to talk to him but I did stalk him after that day. I followed him to his house," I narrate.

"You followed him where?" Her eyeball enlarges.

"I may have to rephrase it. I secretly followed him to his mansion," I state.

"You followed a rich guy to his mansion?" She questions.

"Yea..i know it's harassment but-" I try to explain but she cuts me off.

"Hey, I won't judge you for it. If I were in your position, I'd do the same. He was attractive right?" She asks.

I nod as an image of Callan's face flashes in my mind. A smile tugs at the corner of my lips.

"He threatened to call the cops on me though but eventually he grew fond of me and we ended up being friends... We had our first night," I narrate trying to avoid the next words where he moaned his ex girlfriends name.

I refrain from telling her that and continue with a smile on my face. "We had a few dates and I thought he really liked me until he couldn't introduce me to his friends because he was embarrassed of me".

That's just what I think. He never really said that. I feel as though I'm just trying to make him look like a terrible person.

"That's fucked up. If a guy really loves a girl, he would show her off like a medal no matter what," she says.

"He was obsessed with his beautiful ex. Nice hair, nice face, nice body and influential in the fashion industry. Everything a guy wants in a girl," I say with a hint of pain in my tone knowing that I was never good enough for Callan in the first place. So, why the hell did I think I was?

The next part hurts.

"When I confronted him about it, he yelled at me. He told me he regretted sleeping with me and that we were never in a relationship so it was absolutely non of my business to question his affairs," I say before I cover my face with my palms and break down into heavy crying.

I remember that day like it had just happened a moment ago.

Cara moves closer and envelops me in her arms. "Aww, don't cry sweetie. It's okay. It's going to be okay. He is the past and you need to move forward".

I won't tell her about the confession he made to me the last time I saw him. It doesn't matter cause he never fought for me. He just let me go because to him, I was just a chapter but he was my whole story.
