Callan Anders Pov

I forgot about the restraining order. Kashmere misjudged me and she won't believe me until I lift it off.

"That isn't possible," Kevin, my lawyer states.

"What do you mean it's not possible?" I ask.

"It's not an easy process with the court. You just can't file a restraining order and then lift it off whenever you want like a light switch. That's why I asked you in the first place if you were sure enough to go through with it," he explains.

"Well, do your lawyer thing. I'm sure there's a way we can go around the system," I say.

"I'm not above the law," he responds.

I clasp his shoulders. "You don't understand how much I need this to happen. This just has to be made possible soon enough," I beseech.

Kevin sighs and gives in. "I'll see what I can do about it".

After two days I head over to the baseball center. I left work early to come here. I don't usually come here during the week but I'm on a mission. Advancing towards the bar shed, I espy the girl who I saw with Kashmere at the restaurant.

"Uh hi," I greet.

"Hello. What can I get you?" She ask's.

"No no. I just wanted to inquire something," I correct. "I need Ivy".

I want Kashmere's home address. I was about to ask her friend for it but I've just thought against it. I don't think her friend would go behind Kashmere's back. I think Ivy would be more helpful.

"Ivy left early," she responds.

Disappointment etches my features as I scratch the back of my head.

She pauses for a while until she opens her mouth again, "But, you can leave the information and I'll pass it to her".

Do I have a choice? This is important. I need to see Kashmere, so I'll have to try my luck.

"I need Kashmere's home address," I say.

She hesitates. "Uh, is Kashmere aware about this?"

I almost lie but admit, "No, but this is important. I need to talk to her".

I tried calling Kashmere but she kept on cutting my calls. Anyway, her friend ended up giving me her address and now I'm on my way to her house. The red sun is setting in the distance as I come to a halt at her apartment.

Stepping out of the car, I take in the building before me. It's a small two floor apartment. It's nothing like my house.

I stalk towards the door and knock.

Kashmere Lynn's POV

So, I guess that's it for me and Callan's little amity. These past few days, I've been working at the baseball center and doing the same usual things but I knocked off early from work today. I am washing dishes in the open plan kitchen when I suddenly hear a knock at my door. Who could that be? I don't usually get visitors unless it's the police. I hope it's not the cops. I wipe my hands on my clothes and stalk towards the door.

Opening it, I come face to face with Callan. What the fuck is he doing here? How did he attain my home address? Is he starting to stalk me to get back at me?

I endeavor to close the door but he places his hand on it.

"Kashmere I need to talk to you," he says.

"What do you want?" I ask impatiently.

"About what happened, it's not what you think. The restraining order is yet to be cancelled," he enlightens.

"Are you done wasting my time?" I question and try to close the door but he places his hand on it again.

"Listen Kashmere, I want us to continue this; our friendship I mean," he says.

"Why do you insist on knowing me so much?" I ask

"Cause..." He says but I cut him off.

"Cause you felt sorry for me. I recall you said that you wanted to befriend me as a way to say sorry for what your associates did to me," I remind.

"As implausible as this may be, that's not the truth. You seemed like a nice girl. I just realized that I judged you way too soon and decided to hit it off," he explains.

"What do you want me to say?" I inquire.

"I want you to give me a second chance," he begs.

I ended up forgiving him and now the air is cleared.

The following day, I go to work.

"Where's my favorite employee?" Ivy ask's merrily as she advances towards me and Giselle.

At first, I thought she was talking about me which made me blush a little until I realize she isn't.

Boohoo.

"She's the best employee I've ever had," Ivy says to me as she wraps her arm around Giselle's shoulder. "There's so much going on in her life; The sugar daddy and son issues, can you believe that?" With a wide grin she points her thumb back at Giselle.

Wow, now she's telling Ivy about our issues.

"Okay, so I brought in new stock. Take them from the backroom and stack them onto the glass cabinet," she assigns Giselle before leaving.

After Ivy leaves, I open my mouth, "What was that about?"

"What?" Giselle ask's.

"You're telling her everything that I thought would just be kept between the both of us," I enlighten.

"What's wrong with that? Ivy and I have been working alongside each other for a while and we've grown close," she replies.

Ivy isn't taking my place, is she? Anyway, I let the whole thing slide. I don't want my jealousy to get the best of me.
