A mess of blankets, pillows, and all the stuffed animals Kija owned greeted Yoki when he opened the door to his little sister's bedroom. Kija's bed had been turned into a cloth marshmallow. The cord to her heating pad snaked from the outlet to the blankets, humming happily.

Yoki poked the cushioned mass, "Dinner's ready."

The blankets shifted in response.

He poked it again, "It's getting cold."

Kija shifted under the blankets and Yoki poked her head, "You want me to eat all the Bulgogi myself?"

A groan let up and some muffled curse words were thrown Yoki's way. Kija pulled the covers over her head, cutting off all contact with the outside world.

"You can bring your blankets." Yoki eyed where the heating pad was plugged in. A minute passed and with no sign of Kija moving, Yoki pulled the plug out.

Two minutes later Kija swore and stuck out an arm to try to find the cord.

"Nu-uh, you gotta get up." Yoki smiled. Kija poked the top of her head out, blankets still pulled up over her nose. She glared at him.

"Give it."

"No."

Kija warped it into her hand, but Yoki slapped his hand on the outlet, smug despite Kija looking like she would murder him if she had enough energy.

"I put on the heat, and you can bring your blankets," he said, "Doesn't that seem like a wonderful incentive?"

"A bed would be better." Kija let her face fall straight onto her pillow. Yoki poked her again and she groaned before throwing the blankets off. She grabbed the fluffiest blanket she had and stuck her tongue out at Yoki before hobbling out of her room.

Yoki followed her out, "You look very gremlin like."

"Give me food and I'll fix my posture." Kija sat on the chair and swaddled herself in her blanket, Yoki snickered and Kija threw a lettuce leaf at him, a chunk of the meat already in her mouth.

"Save room for chocolate cake!" Yoki called. He grabbed the dumplings and turned around to face Kija, he smiled at her, "I got one on my way home for work. Which you would know if—"

This time he caught the lettuce leaf midair. He chucked a dumpling at Kija in retaliation. She caught it and stuffed it in her mouth without breaking eye contact.

Yoki smiled, "At least you have a long weekend. I'm assuming hibernation?"

Kija took a sip of her tea, "Not if that chocolate cake has anything to say about it."

"Well, we could just not eat it and—"

The dumpling dish in Yoki's hands warped away, now on top of Kija's plate. Yoki stood there, dumbstruck, as Kija laughed and popped another one in her mouth.

"You have no manners," he said.

"I had an excellent teacher," Kija joked. She reached for her tea, but Yoki grabbed it first. He held out his hand, staring Kija down as she begrudgingly handed over the plate of dumplings in exchange for her tea.

Yoki sat down. "I have no idea what you're talking about," he said as he shoved an entire dumpling in his mouth with his bare hands like the adult he was.

~~~
"Hellooooo!"
Kija groaned, "Go away."
Nejire marched into Kija's room and threw open the window. Kija hissed and retreated further into her nest of blankets, pulling them over her head. Why did she ever tell Nejire where the hide away key was?
