A/N: Fly High! is actually an opening song for Haikyuu, but I thought it still fit this.

"Seriously Kei?" Kija stared at her oldest friend as he hovered/flew in front of her. She'd gotten home and come up on the roof to be alone, so why was Kei here when he was supposed to be several cities over working as Hawks?

Kei grinned at her and touched down on the roof, "What? Am I not allowed to visit now that you're all grown up?" He sat on the edge with Kija, legs dangling, wings stretching behind him, and the normal easy grin on his face.

Kija rolled her eyes, "No, but this isn't exactly subtle, and at least tell me when you're coming over. Besides," Kija paused her music and stuffed her earphones in her pocket, "Shouldn't you be at your agency?" It wasn't normal for Kei to just swing by, where he normally hung out wasn't exactly close by.

He shrugged, "Yeah, but right now my agency's swamped with way too much paperwork, my managers said any more reports and they might just drown. So..." He flashed Kija a grin, "I decided to take the break from being the number three hero and go see my dear friend Kija."

Ah yes, the one-time Kei, or to everyone else, Hawks, had any time to spare was when he'd worked so hard there was too much paperwork for his agency to handle. Still, Kija was skeptical.

"Oh really? There was no outside intervention? Whatsoever?" She quirked an eyebrow and Hawks sheepishly grinned.

"Well...I might have worked three days straight and I might have forgotten to drop of the papers at my secretary desk, and I might have seen the major supervisor was taking a long weekend." He winked at Kija, getting another eye roll out of her.

"Fine, but please tell me you got enough sleep before coming here?" As nice as it was to see him, Kei was a workaholic, though Kija supposed that wasn't really his fault.

Kei leaned back and stretched, a lazy smile spreading across his face, "I got enough, it's me that should be asking if you got enough sleep though." Kija stiffened, of course this was about that. What else would it be.

"Tch, knew if I told you you'd worry." Why did I have to tell him about the nightmare? Kija internally cursed herself for trusting Kei to not drop everything and rush over here.

Kei raised an eyebrow, "I was honestly ready to ditch my next meeting and fly over here the second you called me."

"Pff, like they'd let you out of it." A breeze kicked up and Kija reached for her hood, but only swatted at air. Kei moved his wings, so they blocked it though, and Kija stuffed her hands in her pockets.

It wasn't a secret between the two how the hero Hawks was a project from the Hero Commission. They never really let him off the hook for slaking off. A good hero always does what they're told no matter what, after all.

Kija nearly gagged as she remembered that line.

Kei tapped his chin, "Yeah, but you still worried me, you know that." He leaned back on his hands and stared at the sky, this was one of his first pro-longed time offs in a while, so he wasn't too worried about the commission getting on his back.

Well, he was, but not like he'd tell Kija that and make her worry when she needed somebody to worry about her.

Kija let her feet hang against the building, "The nightmare wasn't anything big, I just hadn't had any dreams about it for a while, so I thought it might mean something."

That was a lie, Kija knew what caused it, but she wasn't going to admit it. Unfortunately, Kei wasn't going to let her avoid it so easily.

"Hm...yeah, your dad comes back after over a decade to attack a class you're helping with. Can't see how that relates to this at all." Kija looked at her friend from the corner of her eye, they locked eyes and Kija could tell Kei wasn't going to give up.
